I am a Citizen of India and I want to start a business in the US. Is it possible?

Hi, I am a Citizen of India and I wish to start an online business in the USA. How do I proceed further. How to get business licence. How to get tax id. Whom should I consult. If anyone is doing this type of business, please advice. I can work from India itself as it is an online business. Any link to information or consultant would be of great help. Thanks in advance.

Jere answers:

You can certainly start a business — either an LLC or a C corporation. (S corporations can be owned by US citizens only.)

First, determine the type of business you’d like to form. Don’t worry yet about your business licenses or tax ID — you should have your business registered before proceeding with other filings. (You want to make absolutely sure the name you’re using is available first!)

One you’ve determined the kind of business that’s best for you, you should have a clearer idea of how to go about registering for it, obtaining permits, etc.

Good luck!

Your Questions About Email Marketing Lists

Donald asks…

Where do I find email lists for email marketing ?

I don’t want to make spam, I only want to promote my business, by email marketing. I need some real good, and long email lists, if you can help me, please tell me a site for FREE from where can I get this. Thanx in advance

Jere answers:

No..free..lunch……….you have to pay for them………..

Donna asks…

Which is the most reliable place to find email lists to use in email marketing?

Before I have been looking for emails in torrent sites but I doubt their reliability. They are not even well organized and I never know where they came from. I need emails I know who they belong to like country, interests, age, male or female etc. Which is the most reliable place to get email lists?

Jere answers:

Can Spam regulations have reduced such unsolicited mail. Those who continue such spam appear to be operating off shore.

Legitimate marketers rent mailing lists of demographically categorized, opted in names from mailing list brokers, usually involving thousands of dollars.

Nancy asks…

I am lost on how to go about putting together email marketing lists. Please help!?

I have examined every little thing from traffic to blogs to ppc. I am also au courant to joining. I am so irked! Can someone please cast off some information on the business and tell me what I need to do to get going? No one opts in at my site and I feel like no matter what I try and put up to entice them nothing works. NO SPAM PLEASE!.

Jere answers:

The foremost way I know of is to simply knock down a list of subscribers who are already pre-disposed to what you are selling and market to them without deviation. This way your not assuming like you do when you score traffic. I don’t particulary commend buying traffic as it does not portion anything for you. In other words, its contrary to reason to tell who is purchasing if they do buy. They are lost forever! With a subscriber list you can see who clicked because of your emails and who didn’t.. Muchimproved.

Ruth asks…

How do I opt out of email marketing lists?I By accident I opted-into one. Help.?

Jere answers:

There are a lot of tricky marketing strategies used online, most of it is now just considered Spam.

Basically once the blackhats have your email there is nothing you can do. You can look at the bottom of the emails if there are unsubscribing options but if there are none you either have to mark it as Spam so your spam filter will throw it away automatically or get a new email account.

I personally recommend Google Mail as there spam filter is very effective, the software runs well, and you have tons of storage.

Carol asks…

how can I find opt in email marketing lists?

Jere answers:

Direct Magazine, a trade magazine for direct marketers, offers listings of lists being sold/rented, many of which include opt in emails from various sources. Check out their vendors at http://www.directmag.com/resourcecenter/listfinder/

Your Questions About Business Online Services Social Security

Ken asks…

What is the best accounting service for a very small business? Quickbooks or a local accountant?

I have started a very small cleaning business and after doing the work myself for a while, now I need an employee or two. And of course, I will need accounting service. Should I go with a local accountant around here, so I will have a real person to work with? Or should I go with one of the online services such as Quickbooks, I see that Xerox has one, and I also see some others I have not heard of which claim to be free. If you say to go with an online service, which one is the best and what has been your experience with them?

I desperately need some answers from some other small business owners who have been where I am. You are the only ones who will truly understand my situation and have a legitimate answer. I need something or someone to do my employees social security, medicare and other deductions. Plus, many other things I am not yet aware of. I am thinking that a local accountant would be good as they could help me with the state forms and taxes I have to fill out and pay also; they could also do my income tax at the end of each year….that seems like a big plus….I just really am not sure what to do.

Sincerely, thanks in advance for your time!

Jere answers:

I work for a small accounting firm where we specialize in providing accounting services to restaurants. After working there two years, my suggestion for the best would be finding a good CPA to do your accounting work. I work for a CPA and use QuickBooks to do the day-to-day stuff like paying bills, creating paychecks, filing quarterly payments, etc. For the restaurants but I think where the big payback to the restaurant owners comes in (besides doing their taxes) is having access to someone who specializes in their field and they can ask him what if questions – such as I’m looking to expand or buy additional equipment and will timing make a difference on my taxes? There’s also the letters from the IRS – having someone knowledgeable about your business who can respond in a timely manner is a big plus. I’ve seen where they make mistakes but you’ve got to know the tax code and have the record backup.

My suggestion for second best would be doing the accounting in-house with a software package but still lining up a CPA for your taxes.

Sandy asks…

Please help me with my website ideas?

I’m 13. Over the summer, I want to start an online business. I have many ideas, but ive posted the two that struck me the most. I feel these are great ideas, but I’m not sure which one to choose. My goal would be to make six or more figures a year. I know that sounds crazy since I’m only 13, but it’s my goal. I would love to become financially independent.

1. My first idea is my favorite. It is a website where users can submit original songs, and other users can listen, rate, comment, share, and chat. There would also be features where users could post info and where bands could find new band members. I would make money from selling ad space, and maybe creating a pro membership with extra features if the site becomes big enough. Some problems I ran into when I was thinking on this idea was not having enough money to create the site. I thought it could cost $100,000 to have a web design firm create the site. Then i realized my cousin has been at RIT majoring in web design and programming for 2 years. I asked him, and he said he would be happy to build the site. Althoguh he may not be a professional, this site that he builds could be a “beta” launch, and money I make from it, I would reinvest into the site. My grandparents also called me yesterday saying they would love to give me money for marketing.

Idea 1 Overview
Target Customer: musicians, artists, independent artists, songwriters, record producers.
Revenue: ad space, pro membership
Variable Costs: websit matinence, domain, hosting, marketing
Type of business: online business, online company, internet business, Internet company, small business, service business, social network site, online community.

2. My second idea is quite simple. I would create a basic website with storefront capability, and sell musical instruments such as guitars, bass, drums, keyboards, dj, mixers, lighting. I would buy the products from a wholesale/dropship company. Vthey would dropship the items when I give them the order details. I would price competitively but price to make a nice profit.

Target customer: musicians, bands, artists, guitarists, djs, keyboardists, record producers, drummers, bassists.
Revenue: ads on site, selling products
Costs: website, website matinence, domain, hosting, wholesale products, marketing
Type of business: online business, retail, ecommerce.

Idea 3. This would be a website where users can store photos and or data on a secure digital storage site. It would cost users 4.49 a month and they get a certain amount of storage. My cousin would program the site. I would also have great security features for customers. This is a new idea and I know I would be competing with brands such as mozy, photo bucket, etc, but I feel I can start small and build up a better brand name.

Overall, I love the first idea and the third.. Which idea should I do? Which idea is more profitable? Even if you don’t like either, please choose the one of the above if you had to choose. I have been going to a Business Camp at my school and I enjoy it.

Jere answers:

It’s a big goal and being open I don’t think you can handle it.

However you can refer to:

Happy with your website!

Mandy asks…

How can I get my money back from an online scam or, at least stop them from taking money out of my account?

In january I signed up to process rebates online. This opportunity was offered by a woman named Angel Stevens. I was looking for opportunities to work from home by choice, I was not sent an email offer. I figured I should take a chance, with the “you only live once” mindset, and gave this this person my debit card info. I did not give out my social security number, I would definitely have to downright stupid to do such a thing. A couple of weeks later, $197 was taken out of my account, which I was fully aware I would be paying for. The same night I found the website, I thought I would begin my training. Instead, I got something totally different. They wanted me to start my own website and gave me very foggy instructions to do so. I was also offered a special service that was supposed to help me get my career up and running. It was of no use to me. It also required a monthly membership fee of $39.95. I have contacted Angel Stevens and customer service, both by email and phone. I was told that I would get a refund for both $197 and the $39.95, as well as have my membership cancelled and recieve a confirmation email. That was almost a month ago and I have not gotten any results. I feel so ashamed for not looking into this furthur. The website gave Angel’s home and business emails along with customer service email and a phone number, I figured it was legitimate. I’m hoping I can at least stop the $39.95 a month from coming out of my checking account. Is there anyone I can contact? I have LifeLock, will that help? Will I have to contact my bank and close my account and open a new account?

Jere answers:

It is possible for you to contact your bank to avoid any future bank account debits associated with this organization. Just to be sure, you may inquire with your bank about closing out this account to open up a new one. I would probably go that route if I were you.

As for the organization that scammed you, I would try calling everyday to complain about the situation in hopes that “the squeaky wheel will get oiled”. You may also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, which is free and available completely online.

The Better Business Bureau is also known to help consumers with mediation in situations such as this one. Assuming that the organization is legitimate, it is very possible to get its attention when the BBB contacts it on your behalf. Of course, if the organization is full of a bunch of “scam dogs,” this will be quite a bit less effective. In any case, it doesn’t hurt to try.

Good luck to you!

Donald asks…

Is this a sign that employers are finally ‘getting it’? Double the number of employers signed up?

for voluntary program for verification of Social Security numbers?

“Ratcliff said her agency is designing a promotional campaign to reach out to employers, especially those in critical facilities such as nuclear power plants, to encourage them to use the federal verification service, which she said has been refined over the years and will soon be more accurate and faster. Currently, 80 percent of employee names, identification documents and Social Security numbers can be validated within a matter of seconds by the online system, she said.

If a name or Social Security number does not check out instantly, the employee is given eight days to respond. Some of these cases turn out to be clerical mistakes, the failure to report a name change, or the failure of an immigrant to report to the Social Security Administration that he or she has become a citizen. Others cases indicate that a person is an illegal worker, she said.”

Do you think this is a good thing?

http://www.ajc.com/services/content/business/stories/0825bizimmig.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=6

Jere answers:

Great information. I strongly support it. But my guess is that most of the real violater industries dont have many volunteers on the list. Id be suprised if there are many Homebuilder companies on that list for example, since they live and die by how many slaves (oops, illegals) they have working. And all of those other manual labor industries that Americans used to be able to get jobs in, until we got this new breed of slaves that are willing to work for $10 a day. Isnt that sad? So many Mexicans are mad at the US for wanting Mexicans to go through the legal immigration process, become citizens, and get paid a living wage for the work they do. How terrible of us! The funny thing is, a lot of those pro-slave people are the same ones that are fighting to raise the minimum wage to a living wage. They arent even smart enough to realize that they are fighting to make a slave class, versus a higher class of American citizens. Its all very sad.

Your Questions About Direct Marketing Association

Donald asks…

Professional Marketing help?

Direct marketing is continuing to become more ________ oriented.

Which of the following is NOT a reason that direct-mail marketing drives approximately one third of all U.S. direct marketing sales?

less expensive than TV and magazine ads
high target market selectivity
ability to be personalized
measurable results
flexibility

What characteristic of niche sites makes the medium MOST appealing to marketers?

Neal Murphy sells his company’s unique gift items on television programs broadcast on a channel that is entirely dedicated to selling goods and services. Neal is using ________.

ABC Company sells directly to final consumers and avoids intermediaries, while catering to a broad group of demographic segments. This marketer falls under which online marketing domain

Which of the following is a factor that is likely to push a company to decide NOT to enter international markets?

The company’s home market is stagnant.
The company would have to redesign its products.
The company needs to counterattack international competitors in their home markets.
Foreign markets present higher profit opportunities.
Global competitors have offered similar products at lower prices.

Which of the following is a sociocultural factor that a company should consider before deciding to enter an international market?

political stability
population density
education
income distribution
consumer lifestyles, beliefs, and values

An international company that takes a(n) ________ view takes into account the entire global supply chain and marketing channel, forging an effective global value delivery network.

Coca-Cola markets internationally by ________ bottlers around the world for a fee or royalty and then supplying them with the syrups needed to produce Coke products

To maximize the toothpaste market in China, Crest needs to convince more of the Chinese population to brush their teeth. Which of the following would Crest be most likely to use to accomplish this?

Large marketing companies can use patents and heavy promotion spending to ________.

Environmentalists assert that the marketing system’s goal should be to maximize ________.

Companies emphasizing ________ are developing “green marketing” programs that develop ecologically safer products, recyclable and biodegradable packaging, more energy-efficient operations, and better pollution controls.

The American Marketing Association (AMA) has created a code of ethics that includes all of the following ethical values EXCEPT which one?

honesty
fairness
citizenship
competitiveness
responsibility

Jere answers:

Dear Party,

Such a question should be better submitted in the section Homework Help at http://answers.yahoo.com/dir/index;_ylt=AglsDmYMBJ9YtO.MVRXAm0UjzKIX;_ylv=3?sid=396545134

Anyways, you’re forgiven because here’s my answer to it.

1. Direct marketing is continuing to become more ________ oriented.
> online (email + web)

2. Which of the following is NOT a reason that direct-mail marketing drives approximately one third of all U.S. Direct marketing sales?
A. Less expensive than TV and magazine ads
> b. High target market selectivity
c. Ability to be personalized
d. Measurable results
e. Flexibility

3. What characteristic of niche sites makes the medium MOST appealing to marketers?
> Responsiveness, because segmentation drives better results, significantly, but needs more work from marketers

4. Neal Murphy sells his company’s unique gift items on television programs broadcast on a channel that is entirely dedicated to selling goods and services. Neal is using ________.
> home shopping channel marketing

5. ABC Company sells directly to final consumers and avoids intermediaries, while catering to a broad group of demographic segments. This marketer falls under which online marketing domain
> business-to-consumers (B2C)

6. Which of the following is a factor that is likely to push a company to decide NOT to enter international markets?
A. The company’s home market is stagnant.
> b. The company would have to redesign its products.
C. The company needs to counterattack international competitors in their home markets.
D. Foreign markets present higher profit opportunities.
E. Global competitors have offered similar products at lower prices.

RATIONALE: b) The company would have to redesign its products. Because it’s a cost (that could be significant) that the company has to pay upfront to enter the market. A) and d) are favorable reasons to enter international market. C) could be perceived as an hindrance to enter other national markets, but of a lesser extent because the company in its own country is probably already competing with those competitors, so doing the same outside its national market doesn’t really make any difference. E) is an stronger hindrance to entering other national markets, but not as much because products can be sold at slightly higher price since there’s always a place for better quality products. Anyways, the company will still have the choice to adjust its prices to match competition.

7. Which of the following is a sociocultural factor that a company should consider before deciding to enter an international market?
A) political stability
b) population density
c) education
d) income distribution
> e) consumer lifestyles, beliefs, and values

RATIONALE: e) consumer lifestyles, beliefs, and values. First because this one is driven by or includes all the other factors. Second, it’s the highest factor in the socialcultural scale.

8. An international company that takes a(n) ________ view takes into account the entire global supply chain and marketing channel, forging an effective global value delivery network.
> 360-degree view

9. Coca-Cola markets internationally by ________ bottlers around the world for a fee or royalty and then supplying them with the syrups needed to produce Coke products
> charging

10. To maximize the toothpaste market in China, Crest needs to convince more of the Chinese population to brush their teeth. Which of the following would Crest be most likely to use to accomplish this?
> (forgot to provide alternatives)

11. A long-standing charge against intermediaries is that they mark up prices beyond the ________.
> reasonable, acceptable

> outshadow competitors and hamper new players from entering the market.

13. Environmentalists assert that the marketing system’s goal should be to maximize ________.
> consciousness

14. Companies emphasizing ________ are developing “green marketing” programs that develop ecologically safer products, recyclable and biodegradable packaging, more energy-efficient operations, and better pollution controls.
> sustainability

d. Competitiveness
e. Responsibility

Susan asks…

Does any community have a business or forum for networking direct sales marketers?

I am looking for ideas about networking people involved in direct sales marketing to each other, whether it is through the local Chamber of Commerce, a private business, a club, or another type of Association. I am wondering if this has been done anywhere and what was involved?

Jere answers:

Hi, perhaps you can try Google adwords to market your service/product.

Google adwords is a text-based system for advertising on its site and its partner sites. The service allows you to create your own ads, choose keywords to help match your ads to your audience, and control the cost of your advertising—you pay only when people click on your ad (a cost per click plan). Anyone wishing to promote a product on Google can enroll in this program.

You can get a 5 detail pages information about Google adwords at :

Good Luck && Best Wishes!

Donna asks…

Social Media. Is it just hype, or is it the real thing?

The Direct Marketing Association thinks it’s the real thing. They’re even promoting their annual conference on Myspace: myspace.com/dma07_chicago

I’m not sure what to think. What about you?

Jere answers:

I’ve been an online networker at a business networking site for just over four years now (www.ryze.com) and I get about half of my business clients through that one site. But don’t be fooled. It’s not like you throw up a MySpace page and suddenly you’re swamped with sales. There’s a lot more to it than that.

Political candidates who use social networking sites? Remember that they are doing all kinds of things offline to drive traffic online to their page, network, blog whatever. The fact that there was a Democratic presidential debate through YouTube is a very good sign that this way of getting exposure is for real. But it wasn’t YouTube alone – it was YouTube in concert with CNN that brought it tons of attention. Online strategies work better when they are dovetailed with offline strategies.

If you are just trying to use online strategies because you’re trying to do it all on a shoestring budget you should also be doing things like article marketing, affiliate programs and more. Oh, and you need to be building relationships with people who will come to trust you over time and then MAYBE they’ll do business with you. It works – but it’s not instant.

The way I get clients is that people get to know me at my online network I’ve had for over three years and I’ve worked very hard to build a sterling reputation and about 2,000 members. Once in awhile someone asks me about my services and I refer her to my site. The site contains a lot of information about what working with me is like and ends with a questionnaire in which they are told that if they answer I will connect with them by email to schedule a one on one phone or skype meeting to answer their questions, tell them my rates, etc. I’m very clear about that.

So, I don’t get a lot of leads – but usually by the time I do get leads they are pretty well qualified due to the way that I’ve written the copy on my site to draw in people who are more likely to be serious about working with me and filter out those who are not.

All the best,

Your Questions About Internet Business For Sale

Charles asks…

Is a Business License required for an internet business or a business having a garage sale?

Jere answers:

If you don’t have a brick and mortar store (a physical store in other words) and are operating out of your house, you usually need a mobile sellers permit.

But if all you’re doing is having garage or rummage sales, none is needed.

Sandy asks…

What would you do if you had $10,000 and wanted to start an internet business. What &where would you sell?

I am wanting to build a retail sales business on the internet. I have been selling corporate liquidation items on ebay and am a power seller($1000+) every month for several. It is a good business but it is too high of maintenance. I want to sell something small and manageable. Ebay or Website or both.

Jere answers:

It sounds like you are a good entrepreneur. Excellent. But the ideas need to come from you. Ive been setting people up on internet for as long as its been called internet. You can sell anything you want on commission thru the tons of affiliate programs available.

But such sites make it or fail based on the attention of the owner. Pick a subject, choose affiliate items, get a free website, make a webpage, get it on search engines, make money. Any subject. It can be an item, hobby, games, craft, sport, pet, country, any subject at all. I dont care if its strange flowerpots or the latest in dieting. It can be something you know a lot about or it can be something you WANT to know a lot about. Is there something that you bug your friends because when you get on the topic you talk about it way too much?

Lets say that its golf. You setup a web page then you search for affiliations on the topic of golf. You can offer golf equipment, training videos, books, funny tshirts with golf sayings on them, etc etc.

Then you need to get attention to your site. You can try out and write reviews on everything you offer on your site. You can link to news and how-to articles about golf. You can add a discussion forum about golf, you can do a newsletter that people sign up for which covers hot golf news items (and mentions new items in your shop). Do you begin to see why it needs to be something you love?

A couple of strong affiliate programs are Amazon.com and CafePress.com, or you can go to CommissionJunction to shop thru their affiliates. These work because the companies know that a “golf” site is better for selling “golf” items. Check those out and think “can I pitch this better than they are pitching it”.

Whatever subject you pick, you can make it THE site to go to for information on that subject. Those are the sites that work. The ones that the person is in love with. When you get a subject, come back and ask how you can build a site around it.

Paul asks…

Internet Business. Sales Tax?

I own a website that sells art prints. I live in Texas. Do I have to charge taxes to all my customers at my rate. Or do i only charge the customers tax that live in texas? Please help im super confused.
I also sell art for people. So say my artist is in belgum, i arrange the sale and take a commision, do i charge tax? SO CONFUSED

Jere answers:

Only in Texas do you charge sales tax. If you have a location in another state, you would need to charge for that state, too.

Daniel asks…

How can I generate sales for my internet business?

I create handmade t-shirts for children. Patterns include, Christmas prints and a variety of prints for customers to choose from.

Jere answers:

By finding more people who are interested in your products and/or services and making your prices more affordable.

Cheers!

Helen asks…

Do I have to charge sales tax for an internet business in Washington state, USA?

I am thinking of relocating the internet business and wondering if I am legally required to collect the tax or not.

Jere answers:

You are required to collect sales tax in states that you have nexus. Since you reside in Washington, you will only need to collect sales tax for items shipped to Washington. Any goods shipped out of the state will not be taxed. Instead, the purchaser will have to pay use tax, which most people never will.

BTW, don’t forget you have to pay B&O (business & occupation) tax in Washington.

Your Questions About Doing Business Online Malaysia

Daniel asks…

If I’m running an online business in Malaysia do I need to pay taxes on my income?

Jere answers:

No

William asks…

I’m planning to do online business in Malaysia…what r the do’s n don’t?

Jere answers:

Please take off your shoes when entering a place of worship or a Malaysian home.
When in the presence of a dignitary, officials or elders, it is impolite to cross your legs with the sole of your shoes facing the person.
If you are hosting a meal and your guests include Muslims, avoid liquor and dishes which contain pork. If your guest is an Indian Hindu, avoid serving him beef.
Shaking hands is acceptable, but kissing of the hand or cheek should be avoided. Many Muslim women, especially those who cover their heads, prefer not to shake hands with members of the opposite sex. In such a situation, a simple nod and smile is sufficient. Malaysians generally respect their elders and will not confront, antagonise or openly disagree with them.
Visitors are expected to be modestly dressed especially in the conservative rural areas of the country. It is considered impolite for guests to wear shorts to a place of worship or a function, except to a beach party.

But then, as with most things, times are changing, some for the better and some for the worst. Its best to use one’s judgment according to the situation
and place and listen to the locals.

Jenny asks…

how can I do online business in Malaysia?

Jere answers:

How about you explain your question a lil bit

Hie im from malaysia and started selling books at fairs and events since 5 months ago…the business is being good…but the its difficult to get places to do sales…so i decided to do it online …other then ebay and amazon…where can i post my books and novels to sell them?

How do i expand or sell books to other countries ?

Thanks
MyStudyLane
(mystudylane@gmail.com)

Jere answers:

You can use your own website to promote your books, giving short reviews and other freebees away to people who want to buy your books. You can also sell online versions of your books on Amazon or on your own website. The Kindle is a very popular tool for digital books, so you may be able to sell more books at a cheaper price with digital versions of your books.

You can get your books critiqued and reviewed by journalists and reviewers. If your books are good, you will get positive reviews, which is good for marketing and PR.

You can also approach schools, etc and offer them a free copy of your pre-school books and ask them if they’ll be interested in purchasing some for their students.

Your Questions About Real Biz Media

Sandra asks…

Need much answer as Possible!! The everday mask we wear, I want to know how some are afraid to take it off?

Im the type that dont wear my mask often of course I dress up for this “stage of life” However I got this notion of keeping it to real! I think outside the box and share what I believe an know about my life. let’s keep it real it’s only one life even if we do believe in reincarnation we all share the same one life and one love of life…

Sometimes I notice ppl cant handle the truth of my honesty I live a carefree life dont label myself with any religion why should I if it was a god he made me who I am and he can think and do all so he know what he did and done to me or for me. I dont care to much of others lives if they promiscious or what have you I shall not judge why I have my own life to judge and think about? lookism I know about cause it’s reality. I can cry on cue cause I show my pain w/o worrying what others say. For this Im lonely for revealing my real mask which society teach and in bedded in us to cover up. Im saying who would invent a word that no one can be for example (perfect) they must of been pefect for their state of mind period….

Why do I really hurt deep down inside for being me, for letting my mask show. I wish NO ONE IN THIS WORLD have to wear a mask of whatever then we can feel comfortable.

I feel like this—> imagine if we see ppl on tv everday looking like the dove women commercials or the typical average girl in the hiphop videos or what ever the media put out for us to watch tv. would we still want to watch? In your opinion wat is the disadvantage of revealing who we are?

Im okay with my life knowing life is a big stage Im doing what I want when I was young I wanted to be in the entertainment biz…now I see it’s just a dress up show of real life and the ppl that do dress for “their parts” probably wishing they can actually live a normal life…

Im closing with this imagine Michael Jackson just imagine him wanted to lead a normal life or have to live a hell of a life(know he went to heave is life was hell on earth trust) he wore a mask what if all those facelift he got just was trying to feel normal and it didnt have nothing with him being white or try not to look like his father. just imagine he knew he was weaing a mask but yet searching for a comfortable mask. He put out so much humanity songs we all can feel, he reveal “our mask” in his music but he always wore a mask for himself

Jere answers:

You’re going to run into a few problems if you try to “remove the mask.”
As you duly point out, people will not understand or accept your true self. There will be an uneasy tension between the reality that they’d rather see your mask, and the pressure to be pluralistic and politically correct and thereby not “judge” you by appearance. Of course, as we all know, they will still judge you by appearance. Political correctness is just a policy of consensus-based acceptance.
I know a girl who doesn’t wear make-up. People don’t treat her as nice, they don’t pay her way for things, and she doesn’t get many invitations. If she did wear make-up, life would be a little softer on her. Obviously, there are very real consequences for you, should you remove the mask, but if you can accept that, then by all means.

William asks…

the truth about cut down movesets in mainstream wrestling what are your thoughts.?

1.When you sign a contract with a federation mostly mainstream they will not let you use your former gimmick. An example is Evan Bourne, he was known as the happy go lucky natural face but sometimes cocky heel on the indepedents, he played the roles well and pretty much had the same
role as he does in WWE win-loss wise but an x division title was around for him to bring prestige to.
CM Punk has moves cut, some are for gimmick reasons others for . . .

2.safety- since Chris Beniot’s death and many wrestlers wounds of war have proven that although
WWE is a show there are many risks, WWE has limited these risks starting small in 2007 but being
cut down and limited way more than ever since 2009. In WWE now the full arsenal number is to 20
moves enough for matches which are set to time. Many overlooked ring-workers such as John Cena,
Miz, Nexus and Corre could very well put on amazing matches with none of the strings attached.

3. who’s to blame?-WWE for being hassled and ballbusted by parents and media. Why do you think
the word wrestling was dropped because although it’s “pro wrestling” to us daily viewers it’s redneck
“wrastling” to the media and everyday people and the word and linguistics of “wrastling” hits the ear
of Vince Mcmahon wrong, he wants WWE to be a cultural phenenom not the redneck revolution it was, duh, get that through your heads! It’s hardcore wrestlers faults, it’s careless promoters faults
but to blame in WWE it’s not the writers, it’s not vince who has to look out for his employees it’s
Mick Foley and Chris Beniot to drop a few names.

4.there hasn’t been a match of the year since 2009- Undertaker’s matches don’t count, that’s all
showboat and sports entertainment wrapped up in one, if you want to see real great matches watch
FCW, ROH,TNA, Dragon Gate and AAA not WWE.

5. why number 4 is problem, since 2007 everyones gotten LAZY, if you are wwe the dominate face
of pro wrestling offer pro wrestling to the phucking fullest, bret hart, beniot, eddie even HBK literally broke his back for this business.

THE QUESTION IS(SINCE ALL YOU MARKS AND IDIOTS DON’T UNDESTAND HOW TO DEBATE
OR EVEN DISCUSS PRO WRESTLING) WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON WATERED DOWN MOVESETS?

(I apologize for the above in caps, a majority of people don’t know bull about the biz and I am a king
of debator and pro wrestling smark.)

bq. what is the best TECHNICAL match you’ve seen in the past 8 years.

Jere answers:

Ultimately I think we all know it was all about Linda’s running for the Senate that brought this all about.. Since she announced she was running people dont bleed anymore. Use of obsenaties is way down, I’m shocked they even let Randy Orton use the Punt kick anymore. They have taylored their programming to the very young audiance to appease parents to try to ensure that WWE will live on to further generations. However I am certian that once these kids grow up they will see how stale WWE is actually becoming.

I agree that John Cena is a huge victim of this.. WWE took away from him what made him one of the best of the last decade.. His attitude, and limited what hes allowed to do in a match. Everyone should know that John Cena is capable of far more in the ring then the routine stuff he has to do every match.

TNA is really the WWE’s biggest compitition and they have their own major issues as well however. With all the amazing talent on their roster, especially their homegrown talent.. They fail to keep an orginized roster whatsoever. A guy who is a Dominate one month becomes a push over for a couple months before becoming dominate again, then going back to push over. Alot of their storylines are recycled from the old WCW era of Bischof and Russo. I forsee another Wrestling company coming up and having their stuff together and making a serious challenge against TNA and WWE.

As for some of the best TECHNICAL matches… Because I really cant pinpoint one.. Lesnar and Angle matches were great. HBK and Chris Jericho. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels matches.

Ruth asks…

So you don’t like your choices for pres. but you go along to get along? Is that not a sell-out?

Note what these scientists discovered about (of all creatures) cockroaches.

“It’s a cascade of imitation, so a small effect can become quite large,”

Point, then, question.

Point: I know of ZERO Republicans who liked McCain as much as Huckabee or, especially, Ron Paul… at least, until he was ‘selected’ by the media.

Same for Democrats who have a half-Caucasian–3/8ths Arab, 1/8th African real estate shark as their front runner.

Question: Why be a roach? Is it somehow worth it? “I don’t like who my party chose but I’m by GAWD NEVER voting for the other party” (as if that’s our only choice).

We resemble one another FAR MORE than they represent us. So, stir the stew for a change. Don’t even vote for the powerless president (hey! it isn’t a monarchy!).

Instead, vote Legislative and local on ONE basis: that they’ll give the president and one another the biz!!!
The question, again, is: Why be so docile?

This is OUR government!

Follow your intelligence and instincts. We have more common ground than we’ll ever realize, if only we’ll stop bowing to party & media and just see one another … eye-to-eye.

==+=+=+=+=+=+=+==

Excellent, Swampy. Good gear-work, there!

Kukoc: Can the president fund a war without the approval of Congress? Has the Congress shown any real determination to be different since Nov 06? Face it. They’re all cut from the same cloth. This isn’t a president acting alone. It never was.

==+=+=+=+=+=+=+==

James W: Me too~!

PTCanon: Clarify your assumption. Are you suggesting I’ve not paid attention to the 6 o’clock news? Or to C-Span and the facts?

This war, the expenditures, the policies are ALL supported by Congress. The president, alone, can not spend a penny.

Without money, how do recruiters recruit? How are weapons purchased and shipped? How are loan documents drafted to borrow trillions of dollars from foreign countries?

A president simply can not do that alone.

We get this sameness in govt, election after election, BECAUSE we’re gullible enough to listen to the “EMOTION-DRIVEN” mainstream media.

Prove me wrong.

Jere answers:

Well Ross had deep pockets and spend whqt 40 million of his own cash and all he did was take votes away from Bush 1 in the first election. So how can any third party compete, unless they are able to get the same money the big boys get from the government and not sure how and or why, but ventura said it was a pain to even get on the ballots in states. So guess it will hve to be a rich person. Although have heard that when bill passed the NaFTA deal the comples and airport were built on Ross’ land and that his son runs the thing, Wonder of all wonders. Abut two years ago many woke up, but it will take time and in the mean time got to figure the “lesser of two evils” thing if you want to look at it that way.

Always wondered what would hve happened if Ross didn’t run and that 20 millin votes went to Bush, many were the elderly and WWII vets they say and they have passed on and we will miss them.

Dark brown to Light brown dye?

Dark brown to Light brown dye?
Ok, so my hairs naturally dark brown with light brown hints in the front. My hairs just passed my shoulders and healthy because ive stopped straightening it for about half a year.
I want to wear my extensions and dye all of my hair Light Brown!

I have extensions that are real hair but they are blonde (there my sisters) so ill need to dye them.

I LOVE this haircut (im not scene btw lol) -http://www.1.bebo2nd.com/PhotoAlbumBig.j…

And the colour light toffee brown i want (Top row 3rd or bottom row 7th)- http://beautycosmetic.biz/images/casting…

My natural hair is darkish, medium brown as ive said. What dyes are good that will lift?
I hate dark roots so thats why im not going for blonde as some people do.

Ive heard XXL LIVE is good?

Thankyou

Jere answers:

None of the pics work, but I should be able to suggest something for you. If you are a medium brown and you want it lighter, you can do this with color fairly easily. I would say that by your description, that you are probably close to a level 4 naturally, and you could easily go to a level 6 that looks natural, and it will fit the light toffee brown that you want. Make sure you choose a neutral level 6 to give you the best look.

Hope that helps ya!

Your Questions About Internet Business Ideas

Paul asks…

What are some good internet business ideas?

I have really wanted to start my own internet business lately, but I dont have any ideas on what to sell or offer. Should I buy and resell wholesale items, and if so what would be a good item, or are there some services that i could offer. Most importantly how would i even start it? Would i need to start my own site, or sell on ebay?

Jere answers:

My husband and I started our home based business over six years ago offering various different telecommunications services and cellular phones and plans at whole sale costs through the Internet as well as word of mouth. We both work out of our home around our children’s school and sports activities. We got involved in an International telecommunications service provider that was started back in 1993. It’s a 15 year old, world wide company that’s in numerous countries. It’s the largest direct selling telecommunications service provider in the world. With headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Charlotte, Amsterdam, Sydney and Montreal.
They have been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company in revenue in it’s first five years. They are registered with the BBB as well.
They market in services people use every day and pay for anyway. Services like Local and Long Distance telephones, Internet, Digital, video phones, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextell, Altell etc with the latest plans and most popular equipment. You help put them on a new 2 year contract plan or upgrading and extending an existing contracts through all the major cellular phone providers. You also help them save money on all their other telecommunication needs as well as Satellite TV. Every single month these people pay their bills, you make a percentage over and over again each month.
How many people do you know, or know of around the world that uses one or more of these services or products? . A lot of money involved in this industry.
If you’d like more information on this type of Internet business, you can go to www.shaunvague.acnrep.com
So there’s one idea for you. There’s a lot of different things you can sale on the Internet.

Internet business ideas for a teenager?

I’m a 17 year old male. I know how to use the internet very well. I don’t have a lot of money to start a business but I want to make some money. Do you have any online business ideas for me to make some money?

Jere answers:

The ideas need to come from you. Ive been setting people up on internet for as long as its been called internet. I can tell you how to setup an impressive website for free.

I dont care if its collecting unicorns or watching hummingbirds. It can be something you know a lot about or it can be something you WANT to know a lot about. Is there something that you bug your friends because when you get on the topic you talk about it way too much?

Lets say that its skate boarding. You setup a web page then you search for affiliations on the topic of SB. You can offer SB equipment, training videos, books, funny tshirts with SB sayings on them, etc etc.

Then you need to get attention to your site. You can try out and write reviews on everything you offer on your site. You can link to news and how-to articles about SB. You can add a discussion forum about SB, you can do a newsletter that people sign up for which covers hot golf news items (and mentions new items in your shop). Do you begin to see why it needs to be something you love?

Some good affiliate programs are Amazon.com or CafePress.com
With CafePress you can create your own items and open an online shop. Do you doodle? Or are you a smart mouth with a witty comment for everything (or know one?) then you can make tshirts and bumperstickers. Do you write? Then do a book. Do you record strange sounds or make music? Then do a CD. CafePress allows it and there is no cost for a basic shop.

The only internet biz that works is one you are interested in enough to do the work on it. So pick a subject. Then come back and ask “How do I make an internet site (and some money) around my interest in xxxxxxxx”.

William asks…

How do people sell their internet business ideas?

because I notice I’ve ran across a lot of interesting stories of people as young as teenage making big money selling their ideas so how? who? where do they find these people willing to buy heir idea?

Thanks in Advance

Jere answers:

Those few stories you’ve come across are the “only” stories of teens selling ideas and making “big money”. Nowadays people aren’t coming up with new ideas, they’re coming up with ways of making old ideas better.

You should just do it yourself, whatever the idea is. If you need funding, start knocking on doors of large companies that you feel would have the most absolute interest in your idea. Some type of patent should probably be obtained before disclosing all of your big ideas though, there’s no need for you anymore after you open your mouth to them.

This would require lots of research. Honestly, you gotta know someone who’d be willing to take a risk with you. It’s not about what you know but who you know.

Betty asks…

i need some internet business ideas?

You claim to be a “developer” and “creator” and yet you are the one asking for ideas. It should be the other way around.

Thomas asks…

Starting an online entertainment business online can u help?

I am planning on starting an entertainment(mainly tarot and astrology readings) business and will be charging clients a fee of less that 20 bucks. What is the first thing that I MUST do in order to start a business like this online? I need it to be 100% legal and not a scam. I am honest and would not like to be labeled a Scam artist! Thx in advance.

Jere answers:

I don’t know anything about tarot and astrology but I started an online business not so long ago and the main issues were:

1. Building a website that works intuitively

2. Marketing the website so that the right people now about it so I can make sales

3. Apart from that, to make it legal you need a legal entity

I used a mob called Business Switch in Sydney and they were really helpful in guiding me through the important issues (there are quite a few) when starting a business. They also do it for a fixed price which was good because you hear lots of stories of people getting ripped off when starting a business.

Good luck with it.

George asks…

What difficulties will my business face when going online?

I am preparing to start a new business online for retailing designer handbags. My business preparation is designed for woman and young girls. The concept of setting up my business online is to gain consideration from my potential customers and the idea of running my business online suits my lifestyle. My business company will be named ‘Dream Bagz’.

~What difficulties will my business face when going online?

Jere answers:

I what suggest that you do a test run before you go live. A lot of times you may not know what you’re missing or what needs improvement until you start. I would suggest having some way of allowing customers to contact customer svc. (you) when needed. Doing a survey may also help you to get feedback that would help to improve your business. Many things could happen, server issues, slow loading pages, etc.
Do a test run…..

Lisa asks…

How to start online business? Do you have to register or pay before starting an online business? Is it free?

Do you need a business license to do business online? Or do you have to register or pay for a certain fee to start online business? And also, what are the steps to start begin an online business?

Jere answers:

My suggestion is to do some research on the subject before starting. Check with your local Chamber of Commerce, the Secretary of State, the Small Business Administration. Read up on it — go to your local library, check Amazon, etc. Write a business plan — there are plenty of books available on this subject.

Prior to investing your time, money & effort into an online business name, it is strongly advised that comprehensive research be conducted to ensure that the name you’re interested in is truly available.

This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark.

Research is needed to make sure your trade name is legally available, before opening, before expansion, before incorporation or before designing your logo. Similarities in sound, appearance and meaning affect you too!

There are 16+ million trade names in use in the United States. Similar names matter, if close in sound, appearance or meaning. Similar names in related classes, distribution channels and customer matter too. You are affected by Common Law use (14 million), State Trademarks (500,000) and Federal Trademarks (2 million).

Chris asks…

How can I start an online graphic design business and bring in clients?

I design things as far as: logos, album covers, business cards, banners, edit photograph, etc. I want to know the best possible way to start a design business online and have the clients pay through paypal or other payable choice that are available online.

Jere answers:

I just designed a logo this week for someone, and charged them with SquareUp.com (like PayPal) and here is what I concluded: (you do the same)

-I should do it more often
– I should put up a portfolio of all my best logos and designs up at my website
– I should get jobs through good work and referals
– And also looking/asking for work on craigslist.com, elancer.com, freelancer.com, and zaarly.com

Lastly, consider doing work for free on the contigency for marketing shout-outs, tweets, free ads, or your link at the bottom of your site. With the right people that may be key.

Your Questions About Doing Business Online Unit 8

Maria asks…

Btec first in business help!?

I have taken a btec in business but now I am struggling to find resources and links that will help me with my coursework, my teacher is off sick and the supply doesn’t really understand so does anyone know any good websites that will help me.
I am on units
5- Preparing for Employment
10- Starting a Small business
8Doing business online

thank you <3

Jere answers:

I’ve had a troll around, there’s some stuff here that might be interesting,
put ‘Btec first business coursework units’ into yahoo search,
then scroll down to and click on ‘BTECH Business’, scroll down 3 or 4 pages, hope it might help.

Steven asks…

Question on fees for international students in AU?

Hi, there!

I E-mailed an Australian university to get an answer for this question, but I got some unrelated answers two or three times ):

Okay, there is an Associate Degree in Business and Commerce via online studying I could be interested in. The degree encompasses 16 units spread over two years as full time studying. The Web-site for this university states that the “full international fee” is AUD 21,200 . But what do they mean by this? Is this for a full year or for the full degree meaning two years?

The most important consideration for me is knowing the fee per unit. So, if “full fee” means only 1 year, the price per unit is AUD 2,650 (AUD 21,200 divided by 8 units per year). However, if the “full fee” means 2 years, the price per unit is AUD 1,325 (AUD 21,200 divided by 16 units for the whole two years). What of these assumptions is correct?

Thanks very much,

CAL “Makberto”
P.S.: Just for the record and to be as precise as possible: I am talking about Monash, online studying via Internet for a non-Australian (international) and not via traditional brick-and-mortar studying, and this degree is very far from being a Master’s since it is an Associate’s (Pre-Bachelor). Thanks!

Jere answers:

I am a local Australian student and your second assumption sounds right to me, it would probably be for two years because $1,325 per unit sounds about what I pay

Linda asks…

Is 20 units too much for one college semester?

I don’t have a job, so I will have time basically all day.
I just found out I need to take certain classes by the end of this fall semester to apply for a RT(Radiology Tech) program.
I am taking
Bio40A 5 units
AHS200 Online 3 units
RT200 1 unit
Acctg20 5 units(Its for the Business Degree I am kinda almost done working towards)
Finite Math Online 3 units
PoliSci Hybrid 3 units

Should I just put off the courses for my Business Admin Degree for now, so that I can for sure get into the Radiology Tech program that I really want to get into? or should I work towards both since I am almost done with my Business Degree.(I need about 8-10 classes left for that degree)
This is my second yr in college..and I would be going to more than one college..
oh and I do really well with online courses..well so far..and I have taken more than 5..

Jere answers:

Yes it is too much. Most colleges will only allow you to take up to 18 units at a time. After 18 you need permission from the school

Do you have any suggestions?

Please help me.

I also need idea of buying 5 units of PC for my internet shop business.

Thanks in advance!

will be putting up internet cafe

Jere answers:

I’d suggest something with a duo core, expecially for multi-tasking. Get something with at least 2 gigs of ram, preferably with a CPU above 1.8 GHz, and some decent storage space in the hard drive 100+ Gigabytes.

Also you didn’t provide a budget so it makes it hard to really give out more specific suggestions. Toshiba, HP, Dell are very good computers, but user experience varies between person to person.

bye

Me: sorry i dont want to anymore, as you don’t sound legit.

Him: Then lets do cash on delivery then.

Jere answers:

This is a typical scam. From the scammer’s writing I’d say he’s from West Africa, possibly Nigeria or Ghana.

The two most obvious signs:

1. UK phone numbers starting with 070 (or +4470 internationally) are so-called follow-me numbers. These look like landlines but in reality simply forward calls to another phone number anywhere in the world. These numbers are very popular with scammers as it lets them pretend they’re in the UK when they’re not.

2. Whenever payment is requested by cash transfer services such as Western Union or Moneygram, there’s a 99.99999% chance it’s a scam. Cash transfer is too costly for legit companies (somebody needs to physically walk to the WU outlet, pick up the cash for each transaction individually and finally deposit it on the company’s account). Scammers on the other hand love these services – with only so much as the MTCN or reference number and secret Q&A, you can pick up the cash and disappear without a trace.

If you agree on cash on delivery, the scammer will find another way to ask for money via WU – shipping cost, customs fees, anything he thinks might work with you. Just tell him you’re not interested anymore.

Read more about phone scams at http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10753 or post the scammer’s mails at http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 for others to find.

Your Questions About Business Online Services Group

Linda asks…

IRA Network – Investors Resource Alliance – business plan service + investors?

I have an online business and am currently seeking seed or equity funding through angel investors or other venture capitalists. I am NOT interested in an SBA or other business loan, nor “building business credit” services – I don’t need or want business debt.

I submitted an executive summary of my business plan to an investment group called Investors Resource Alliance or “IRA Network” and received a fairly positive response. Out of a dozen submissions to companies which match entrepreneurs to investors and many direct submissions to venture capital firms, this was the first to express real interest.

Before I can be submitted to their network of some 5,000 investors, they want to rewrite my executive summary, as well as my business plan. The service they’re offering costs $3,500 (some of which can be deferred) and includes the business plan, PowerPoint presentation, project due diligence, marketing research, one-page overview, etc – basically every document I would need to be submitted to investors and make effective presentations. Their sample business plans look very professional, are 30+ pages in length and include all necessary sections. The IRA Network has been operating for 15+ years and claims to have secured funding for hundreds of companies each year. I looked them up with the Better Business Bureau, and while they have some complaints, they have an A+ rating after resolving or attempting to resolve the complaints to the satisfaction of the BBB. They are a BBB accredited business.

My question – is $3,500 a reasonable up-front cost for this business plan and investor submission service? IRA Network would also take a 5% cut out of the capital I may get as a result of their direct efforts as well. That’s their real motivation – to take 5% of the $500,000 in funding I am seeking, which I am OK with.

I could potentially get my company in front of 5,000 investors, and my business plan, executive summary, etc. definitely need to be rewritten by a professional. Are there other services that write professional business plans and submit them to investors for less?

FYI – my company has already been founded, the website launched and tested, and I’ve attended counseling and several classes with SCORE. So, I’m not completely green about running a company and attracting investors, although this is my first business.

Any help or comments are welcome.

Please don’t post SPAM from your business lending company!

Jere answers:

You don’t need anyone to do a business plan for you or do these services for you.

Here’s a free tool that will walk you through the entire process and get you ready for funding.

It’s a cheap yearly membership but you get a free trial to see if it works. It’s amazing but very complicated, almost too complicated. But with the detail of your post most likely you can handle it.

Paul asks…

Online Business question?

I’m trying to get an idea of what the cost is to start an online business, not sure if you guys can answer but all info is appreciated. I’m looking into a credit card solutions for payment processing and the site I went to doesn’t really give a clear answer. Basically if a website is brings in let’s say $5,000/month would anyone know about how much it would run me to pay the credit card processing group. Is this a monthly rate? I know this probably varies but I’m just trying to get an idea of how pricing works with this service.

Jere answers:

It is hard to determine what your merchant account costs will be by just giving the total transaction of $5,000. You need to give information on:

– transaction fee (the more sales you have, the higher the transaction fee — so there is a difference in this fee if your $5000 sales can be broken down into 5 transactions as against smaller lower priced 500 transactions)

– discount rate (this is typically high for online merchants because of the condition called “card not present”)

— average ticket price (you’ll pay more in merchant account fees if your items are lower priced because you’ll pay more in transaction fees)

– number of units sold

There are merchant account cost calculators out there that you can try. Check out this one at http://www.merchantaccountforum.com/calculator.html

Donald asks…

How can I find a UK residing person/s to market/popularise my ONLINE TUITION business ? ?

I am an ACCA tutor based in Srilanka.I have an idea of launching an ONLINE-LIVE-TUITON service for UK residing students. India and Srilanka are doing well in online tuiton industry with a rapid growth rate of 400% per year. UK/US students prefer south-asian tutors bcoz, they get tha same quality education like in the UK/US, for a fraction of the cost. Now, I need one or more person/s,to popularise our online tuiton service in the UK, by doing some simple activities such as posting ads on local newspapers, issuing hand-bills to libraries, word of mouth ad,etc.etc. We are not a large corporate group to start offices in the UK. I can’t put ads on Craigs or Gumtree etc.bcoz,my country, SL, is not listed in those sites.(ie,an ad can b posted, but,it never appears). Our target group of students in the UK amounts at more than 150,000. If the UK rep/s can find atleast 50 students per term (a term is 6 months),they can easily earn GBP 3500(or US$6500 approx.) per month. As UK residing reps are the people who are going to deal directly with students including collecting fees, there is no chance of getting scammed(unless the reps scammed us!). But, my big question is: how can I find one or more (responsible) part-timers who can represent us in the UK? Web ads result in zero, bcoz, who search these in net? The most searched word is “sex”. If you have any valuable idea please let me know. My mail is: nicetutoring(AT)yahoo(DOT)com Thanks for reading.Pls help!

Jere answers:

I’m sorry that I cannot help because I am in the US, but I had a question about your posting…

You say you want to provide online live tuiton services in the UK, and that you are a tutor.

I have never heard the word tuiton, but in the US, a similar word is tuition. Tuition is the money a student pays to a university for their coursework. It has nothing to do with what we call “tutoring.” Tutoring is when a mentor helps a student to study, prepare for tests, understand what they read or what they heard in class.

Is it an online live TUTORING service you are proposing?

Sandra asks…

Online Business? Ideas? Tips? Yola? HELP!!!?

So I’m interested in creating an online business through a site calles “yola”.

1. I want to make a site that interests a large group of people from all ages and backgrounds. What type of things would appeal to a large group of people? clothes? foods? fact site like for traveling? What do you think?

2. If I create a site that contains information, can I still profit off of it? if so, how? because right now I would think that one has to sell something in order to make profit off of their site. Correct me if I’m wrong.

3. What, in your opinion, is the first step in creating an online business? I think it is to come up with a service or good that appeals to the larger public.

4. Have you tried or heard of Yola? what do you think about starting a small business through them?

5. Do you have any experince in small online business? Want to give me any pointers please?

Thank you.

Jere answers:

I wrote an article just for people who want to open a business but don’t know what they want. It is linked below. May not be what you think.

Joseph asks…

Which pet grooming business is cheaper to operate – a mobile grooming service or a rent/own your own shop?

We’re having a discussion on one of my online groups as to which type of pet grooming business is cheaper to operate and/or makes a bigger profit. I was interested to hear from different pet groomers who have done the research as to which one is more cost effective – a mobile grooming vehicle or an in shop type grooming business.

Thank you to all who care to share their knowledge with me.

Jere answers:

Honestly, the cheaper one to start up will be the single location shop. However, the mobile grooming services will rake in the cash for you in no time. You can charge more for being a mobile service, especially if there aren’t many in your area. A few years ago, I went to a class at Groom Expo that talked about the business end of things and they compared the business costs of both. And then they compared the profits at both. You will see a marked difference in mobile grooming profits. When I talked to a rep for the mobile grooming van company, they said that by grooming 6 dogs a day 5 days a week, you are breaking even. Most groomers in shops need to groom 10 dogs a day 5 days a week in order to break even. Think about it – you can charge $60 to groom a Shih Tzu in a van because of expenses and convenience to the owner, but in a shop its hard to justify anything more than $30.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Degree

Sharon asks…

What do you think of Internet Marketing college degrees?

Lots of colleges are starting to offer Internet Marketing degrees. Do you think those are worth anything in the real world? What do you think the employment opportunities are for people with those degrees? What do you think the future looks like for them?

Jere answers:

I am a firm believer that college is a very good thing, assuming you can pay for it out of pocket and not take out student loans and I honestly think an internet marketing degree is a good idea but it is not the only way to make six figures in internet marketing. In fact, many 6 figure internet marketers dropped out of school and made it work for them but it takes a very strong and focused person to make that happen. I personally have been an IMer for 3 years and only make 3000 a month in residual income and this is working part time and I have an advanced degree. I know I could do more but I personally choose not to put more time and energy in – cause I’m lazy. That said, I do believe a college degree can help you but only if you don’t have to go into debt to get it.

Jenny asks…

Would you hire a marketing specialist with a Masters degree in Internet Marketing?

Jere answers:

You wasted 2 yrs of grad school on an “internet Marketing” degree?
That degree will probably be obsolete in 4 yrs

I can’t imagine there are any full time jobs for that job title – you will have to do project work and constantly look for new business and it will never pay that much annually

Helen asks…

Schools that offer Internet Marketing Degrees?

Hello & Merry Christmas everyone.

Can anyone tell me what schools beside Sail University offer degrees (Associates and/or Bachelors and/or Masters) in Internet Marketing?

Thank you in advance.

Jere answers:

Information is below.

Steven asks…

Do you need a degree in marketing to do internet marketing?

Jere answers:

Internet Marketing is a growing field. Whether or not you decide to get a degree before persuing it as a career really depends on your goals. If you want to work for a major company and make it your primary career, I believe an education in marketing and business would be very valuable. If, on the other hand, you are more interested in setting up a small website to sell your own products (such as homemade jewelery or soap) then by all means dive right in. On the smaller scale learning as you go is less risky because mistakes are less costly, and the adventure of it tends to make them worthwhile.

William asks…

Do you think its better to pursue a degree in Visual Communications or Internet Marketing Management?

I’m torn and would like to pursue the career with the most job growth and employment availability…what do you think?

Jere answers:

I don;t know of any “jobs” in Internet Mktg Mgmt – some of the stuff you learn there might help you with a website of your own, but I think it would be a big waste of money to get a degree in that – doubt you’d ever get a full time job doing it – AND – not even sure what visual communications is.

Your Questions About How To Do Business Cards Online

John asks…

How to make business cards online?

I really need some good websites or programs that I can use to make business cards. Does anyone have any suggestions?
They have to be free also.

Jere answers:

When I started out in real estate a few years ago I needed business cards. So a co-worker advised me to go to vistaprint.com The cards were pretty decent and the price wasnt bad. Hope that helps.

Ronnie.

Maria asks…

Does anyone know how to make business cards online free adn by yourself?

Hi guys! does anyone know how to make business cards online ,free, by yourself? If you could explain each step very clearly that would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Jere answers:

I do ! I do! Lol i sound liek a 5 year old! Anyways, you dont even need to go online. I got an easier way.On most computers , everyone has Microsoft Publisher. If you go to that and select buisness cards, they have templates and everything. You couldcustomize withyour name and put a picture and colour and do anything you desire! I hope that helped and I hope its good enough for my 10 points.Hehe!

Chris asks…

How do I figure out the paper weight for business cards?

I am trying to order the business cards online and realized that the paper weight is mentioned differently on different souces: lb, pt and #s.
This particular company is giving a choice of # 65, 80, 100, 110, 120 and #140. Which would be appropriate for a snazzy thick card?
Thanks a lot,

Jere answers:

The higher the number the hardest the card will be. But it might be better to see for yourself, you could try to pose as a customer and go to a art material or print shop and ask to see some paper weight samples.

Linda asks…

How would I find someone’s business card online?

I am searching for the business card of a sales and marketing professional in the Philadelphia area. This professional works for an engineering firm. I know the man’s name but nothing else. I think a business card search can be conducted online but I don’t know how to do it.

Jere answers:

Look under google images for a keyword search including the person’s name as well as company or other relevant information. Also, can use the site Linkedin.com

Mandy asks…

I’m interested in becoming a small business selling sports cards online. What do I have do to be official?

Would it be benificial for tax write offs? How do I accomplish that? How does one become an official small business? Would it be better to not become official and just sell as a individual?

Jere answers:

I don’t know what you mean by becoming “official”? Either you comply with the laws of your jurisdiction or you don’t. Most states require you to collect sales taxes for sales made within the State. You can get the necessary reporting forms from the office of your State Comptroller. Your City and County may have similar requirements, but since you didn’t bother to mention where you are located, there is no way anyone could address that possible issue. However, there are no requirements for collecting any sales taxes for out of state sales. I hope this helps you.

Jere answers:

Email marketing template you have to get is designed by a professional for your product specifically and for contract letter format search in google you will get loads of them

Steven asks…

Is there a way to customize yahoo mail plus for email marketing?

Is there a way to customize a header, background, and use a logo? An email template feature with Ymail plus?

Jere answers:

You can use your own stationery that way in any mail. It is easier through Outlook Express.

Michael asks…

Is there an email marketing website that allows you to upload your own PDFs?

iContact, ConstantContact all require you to use their limited templates. I need a company that will allow you to upload your own stuff.

Jere answers:

I would suggest you host your own email marketing script on your company domain. This way you can have full control on what attachments to add to your email.

Check pureemailsales.com as they offer a free email marketing software that you can host under your own domain.

Helen asks…

Is there an all-in-one web hosting, ecommerce, email marketing w/ metrics plus CMS solution?

Must meet ALL criteria, built-in. Need WYSISYG editor and/or user-friendly, non-coding content development and management. It’s for small business so price is a consideration.

Also to not be restricted to template use is a huge plus.

Jere answers:

In a word, no, unless you consider a consultant a solution. You’re not going to create a business site worth having without coding it, and without knowing what you’re doing (how do you keep people from breaking into your site, maybe using SQL injection, and stealing your entire database – including all your customers’ credit card information – which will make you financially liable for any and all losses all of them suffer).

You’ll have to spend either money (to hire someone to do it) or time (to learn to do it yourself), or you’ll be spending money defending your business in court (and losing) and you won’t be getting much business because the site is designed all wrong, and you’re on page 35,000 on a Google search for what you sell.

Marketing strategies/ techniques for direct-selling business?

Our basic knowledge of direct-selling is that, extend a certain discount to the member, then the member will resell the item at SRP.

Are there any other “incentive scheme” for a direct selling business? Please share.

Your Questions About Business Online Services Gov

James asks…

Do you know how much CA Gov. candidate Meg Whitman charges EBAY sellers?

Do you know how much money CA GOP Gov. candidate Meg Whitman takes from ebay users?

For those of you who don’t know, EBAY is a monopolistic online auction site that is able to charge it’s users extraordinarly high fees because of it’s monopolistic powers.

For instance, you can list an item for sale with a $1.00 minimum bid. Many of those items sell for the minimum bid price.

Ebay charges sellers just to post items for sale, whether they sell or not. They call this the “insertion fee”. The cost to list an item for sale at $1.00 is 25 cents. Remember, the seller pays this fee even if the item doesn’t sell! Start your auction at a higher minimum bid and the listing fees go up and up with that price.

If the item does sell, then EBAY really starts to roll in the dough. First they charge “Final Value Fees”. For items that do sell, EBAY then tacks on an additional 9% “Final Value Fee”. That’s 9 more cents out of your one dollar sale price.

Then things get really fishy. EBAY’s policies REQUIRE their users to pay and accept payments using online payment services such as PAYPAL, which EBAY just happens to own. Does PAYPAL charge fees too? Oh yes they do!

How much does PAYPAL charge? Well, they take 3.9% of the transaction amount as part of their fee. They also tack another 30 cents on every single PAYPAL transaction.

Let’s review all the fees charged by EBAY and their subsidiary PAYPAL for that $1.00 transaction.

Ebay takes $0.25 for an “insertion fee”. EBAY then takes another $0.09 cents for the “final value fee”. EBAY’s subsidiary PAYPAL then takes $0.039 plus another 30 cents for a total of $0.339.

Add up the three of them and EBAY/PAYPAL takes 67.9 cents out of that $1.00 that an EBAY seller “earns”.

Did you know that EBAY chairman Meg Whitman takes that much money from all of EBAY’s transactions?

And Meg Whitman complains that TAXES hurt small businesses?
EBAY is NOT an online auction monopoly? Who’s their competition sport? They ARE a monopoly. Educate yourself before responding to my questions please. Small business‘ operating out of their own homes have no choice. They MUST use feebay.

Jere answers:

Couple things, sport. Whitman is no longer Ebay CEO… People are free to use or not use Ebay.

Pretty simple, huh?

P.S. – Ebay is not a monopoly.

Lisa asks…

Do I really need to register my trademark ?

I have a name, and am not quite sure if in the future (near future), I have to use this name as my business identification (product/service). Since, I came up with this unique name, I would like to have legal rights on it (in case if somebody else copies it). I was going through the application to register the trademark at http://www.uspto.gov/teas/teasplus.htm , its costing $275 / $325 ( and it doesn’t even say if it is per year/10 years). Does everybody (who is planning to offer service/product) go through this process, lets say facebook and many other free online services.., do they register their trade mark ????

Can I use “TM” (superscript) in front of my name, even though, I haven’t applied for Trademark registration ????

Any ideas are appreciated ?

Jere answers:

Learn about trademarks here…

David asks…

Why cant the government stop bailing out big business and instead bail out the people that owe.?

I have submitted several times a detailed plan to repair and or fix some of financial woes to both politicians and the president with no response. Why Instead of bailing out the big businesses and banks, car makers etc. can the gov‘t not provide an allowance to each american for this purpose vs Trillion dollar bailouts. This would occur as follows, just like filing your taxes you would be provided with a standard allotment of say $25,000.00 and with it you would get your claim form- these credits would be comleted online just as your taxes are and you would first be reuired to make good on any debts owed in a specific order 1- Mortgages 2-Automobile 3-Credit Cards / loans 4-Child support rearages 5-Fines and penalties etc.. etc… the reamining balance if applicable $10,000.00 or less would be issued in a stimulus check to that person or family.

This would ensure two things that the gov‘t has been trying to accomplish: 1- Assist the big business, banking and auto industry by giving them their money thru payment for their services or products that people owe or are behind on an 2- Free up moneys for families to spend in these markets and encourage the extension of more loans and credit based on increased credit scores etc.

Does this not make sense to anyone vs giving billions of dollars to these organizations…. Simple economics tells you that these moneys are being used for salaries, pensions and day to day operations not clearing up the debt owed, this is why most need more and more. It is a bandaide as the people that owe or purchase these items are in the same boat.

**** I do not approve of a blind monetary stimulus to the people as it does promote growth but rarely stimulates the individulas credit rating by the payment of current debt owed; this is why it is a controlled stimulus built to stimulate big business etc., improve the economy and assist the great people of this nation…

Jere answers:

The government does not give away money to those big business, like General Motors. Those monies were loaned, and much of them have been repaid. What you are proposing is the government give as a gift, money to people to use as they see fit, without repaying. That simply makes no sense. It would add billions to the deficit. No thanks.

The FBI team writes this to inform you that your buyer Dr. Trump. who complained to us bitterly over an item he paid you for, which is “HTC Tilt 8925 for AT&T” through PayPal online money order and got doing business with you through Craigslist.org, and we also interviewed him to believe that what he said is True concerning the allegations that you scammed him and double crossed him out of his money, which he sent to your PayPal account and also shows to us the proof of the payment made by him and since then the Report was so because he didn’t want to Continue with it maybe. And again the PayPal online money order also sent a report to us about you Providing their own Evidence that you wanted to use their service to Scam others and to rip people off out of their Money. But this will never happen since it has been reported to us. We’re hereby write to inform you that the Merchandise must be shipped as they told you to it’s destination being West Africa/Nigeria to your buyer’s name and Information without any arguement as you both was agreed before this problem came up, failure to do that will attract the real attention of the FBI team in East Harlem the City of New York to track you down because every information about you is with us and we also have your profile in our Data/Computer. So we strongly advice you to ship the Merchandise back to his son’s to the Information which was given to you by him. The FBI’s cyber mission is four-fold: first and foremost, to stop those behind the most serious computer intrusions and the spread of malicious code; second, to identify and thwart online predators who use the Internet to meet and exploit others through internet business and online transactions. Statement report made by the PayPal Team will be sent to you shortly.
OMG THANKS. BUT I FEEL KIND OF SCARED STILL.

Jere answers:

There is nothing this person can do to you as he didn’t pay you and thus the transaction didn’t go through. And you have the right to make whatever terms-of-sale you deem appropriate (ie. No checks, no shipping, etc.). He is only bluffing and trying to force you into giving him something for nothing.

So email him back and tell him it is a crime to misrepresent oneself as a police officer or to misrepresent a communication as being one from a police officer. And then tell him that you forwarded HIS communications to the FBI and he is free to do likewise with your communications.

And then contact PayPal and let them know what is happening to you. Don’t contact this person anymore unless PayPal or a police officer instructs you to. And contact your local police department as I believe what this man is doing is a crime. They will give you further instructions. And as you are a minor, you will need a parent to go with you.

Also, you were wise not to give out your address or your phone number. Never do that and NEVER accept a check (they could be fake). Oh, and never meet any person (including this one) by yourself. Always have a parent with you for your personal safety. There are some very bad people out there who might prefer you to the product you are selling so don’t put yourself in harm’s way.

One last thing. You must tell your parents what happened.

Good luck!

John asks…

What type of trademark should I file?

I am making an online auction site like www.ebay.com. I want to patent my business name so I am filing a trademark. I noticed there are different types of mark on www.uspto.gov. Which one do I file? Is it a service mark? Thanks!

Jere answers:

Trade & service marks fall under various (more or less arbitrary) classifications of the USPTO. I would look up e-bays’ classification(s) & use one of them.

Your Questions About Internet Business Ideas 2012

Sandy asks…

I’m thinking about running for President in 2012. Should I?

I have more common sense than all the idiots in Washington combined, they are all a bunch of lying, cheating thieves. I have several ideas about how I would run the country, and I will share them now.

– FOREIGN POLICY: There will BE NO foreign policy. America will mind its own business. Any company that wants to move its operations to God damn China or India will be put out of business by my government. There will be NO immigration, illegal or otherwise. America is for AMERICANS, people that aren’t Americans can go back where they came from and STAY THERE.

– The American people will be put to work. There won’t be any of this internet horseshit, people will be doing physical WORK, like digging potatoes and harvesting corn and paving roads and hauling fruits and vegetables to market and actually working like we did back in the 1950s.

– There won’t be no welfare for the colored folks and the foreigners. They’ll be working just like the rest of us. Anyone that doesn’t want to work will be put in jail until they decide to work. While in jail, they’ll be working, on chain gangs cleaning up garbage along the roadways.

– There will be no more political parties or any of this politics horseshit. If two men want to run for an office, they will announce their candidacy, and six weeks later there will be a debate. Then there will be an election. There will be no political advertisements and anyone who puts out ANY kind of commercial or political sign will be sentenced to 10 years hard labor in prison.

– These prisons will not be like holiday hotels anymore. Each prisoner will be housed in a cement block cell, six foot by six foot. It will contain a cot and a toilet which will also be used as a sink. Prisoners will be in their cells 24 hours a day, will be served two meals a day from crops grown on-site at the prison facility. There will be no arguments, anyone who argues with ANY prison official will be sentenced to 10 years in solitary confinement, which will be a four foot by four foot cell with no cot or toilet.

– Every young child that’s born will be issued a dog and a banjo that he must master the playing of before age 5. Special consideration will be given to any child that wants to play the fiddle.

– National Bed Time will be 9:00 PM (9:30 from June to August) and National Wake Time will be 5:30 AM (5:00 AM from June to August). Anyone who oversleeps will be sentenced to one day in jail for each minute of oversleep time and a hefty fine will be paid.

– These God damn oil companies will sell gas for $1 a gallon, and $1.50 for diesel fuel and the price will NOT change. These days of $600 million in profits are OVER.

– The national music will be COUNTRY, there will be none of this rap horseshit or any of that squalling music. ALL music that is not country or bluegrass or gospel will be outlawed and anyone playing it or producing it will be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

– Merle Haggard will be commissioned to sing the national anthem and that will be the official version of the song.

– Sports will be outlawed, of ALL kinds, because its a God damn waste of time and money that could be spent hoeing corn and digging potatoes. Them big, husky men that’s being athletes should be out doing a day’s work for a day’s pay.

These are a few of my ideas, so I am looking for some staff to join my CANNY FOR PRESIDENT 2012 campaign. Hit me up via email and we’ll get this grassroots campaign going. I really believe we can win this election and have a good, good country.

Jere answers:

If it was only that easy.

Lizzie asks…

What do you think would happen if this Monday every person in the LGBTQ Global community…?

My friend and I were talking about this “hypothetical situation” scenario yesterday. What do you think would happen if this Monday 1/9/2012 every person in the LGBTQ community decided not to go to work, school, use the internet or leave the house to buy anything? How much of an impact do you think this would have? Would some places, businesses and people be totally screwed? What are your ideas?

Jere answers:

The world would pretty much shut down if this would happen!
It’s be a great message for equality, but at the same time, it would be unfair to people who are vulnerable (such as patients in hospitals if all the doctors stayed home).
If there was a less extreme way to protest this, it would be fabulous. Like Occupy Wall Street did.

Thomas asks…

Where would be the best place to set up a video game cafe?

I am thinking about opening a video game cafe. I am finished with the military in early 2012 and have money saved up from going off to war, on top of what my brother has saved to invest in the business as well. Don’t really care where, have nothing tying me to any particular state. Here’s my question: Where in the U.S. would be the best place to go? I have been looking around all over online, but that doesn’t tell me demographics. I am looking for input, where people think it would do well. Here is what I plan on putting in, with possible prices (may change).

1. 16-24 high end gaming computers – games depend on what is currently popular (strategy, FPS, MMO, etc)

2. 6 32″ TVs with 2 xbox 360’s, 2 PS3’s, 2 Wii’s
– connected to the internet with hosting ability

3. Snacks and drinks – chips, candy, soda, energy drink

Prices (tentative): $3.00/hour, $20.00/day pass (24 hours after you buy it, does not carry over unless special circumstances permit)

Hours: 24/7, even holidays.

Tournaments: xbox, PS3, wii, computer with prizes

Ok, here’s my idea so far. Any input?

Jere answers:

Sounds like a good idea! The only thing is however most everyone today have these things readily accessible, whether it be at their parents home or their own. Also I see the price being an issue bringing in customers. What I would do instead is start a game store that sells new and used games and councils (ie. Game Stop, Game Crazy) with the addition to your idea on a smaller scale.

Good luck to you in the future!

Check out the link below it has some more ideas for you.

Your Questions About The Real Biz

Mandy asks…

how will i know what is real on all the internet biz and how to start?

I’ve read so many hypes about marketing gurus and the tons of money they are making. Is it real? the figures look incredible. What I want is just the basics on starting and not all these techie things you are asked to buy.Thank you

Jere answers:

Do not try to start an Internet business. Start a business that allows you to use your passions.

Determine what you are good at and what you love to do. Then research to determine if there is a market for it. Do you love making jewelry? Start a jewelry business. Are you good at graphic design? Start a design business.

Once you know what your business will be, you can decide if you should do business on the Internet. “Internet” is not a business. It is one way of reaching customers.

And you will have to learn some “techie” things, unless you have the funds to pay people to set up your Web site and all the things that go along with that (shopping cart, merchant account, search engine optimization, pay-per-click ad campaigns, etc.).

There is no magic to making money online. It takes hard work, just as it does offline. It is certainly possible, but do not expect that you will get rich with no effort.

Come up with something (a product or service) that people want, find those people and tell them about it. That is the simple formula for success in any business.

Good luck!

Mary asks…

Where can i get a real free business plan? Small biz owners?

I need to get a business plan for a vending business and and need resources to get one, plus any help in the steps i should take to get this started, been in retail for 6 years so not too much experience so any small biz owners please help even other business ideas accepted, thanks.

Jere answers:

Hi Kevin,

You can get free help (business plan included) using an organization called the Service Core of Retired Executives (SCORE). They are just what it says; retired executives who now help up and coming business owners and entrepreneurs develop business plans, find funding/capital and generally guide them through the whole process.

Their website is www.score.org –from there, you can enter your zip code to find your local chapter and someone there will help you from that point on.

Good luck with your business!!

Carol asks…

Are there any real and legal online biz or job?

I Want To Work At Home Online and not telemarketing im deaf so it has to be on the computer thanks

Jere answers:

It depends how deep you want to go, i would suggest learning html and php and making my own websites that using something like google adsence to earn money.
This however takes work and allot of time, also i am a geek so this is up my ally.

Sandy asks…

Can somebody tell me about http://www.imonet.biz that how real and reliable this investment firm is?

I want to make some investments with www.imonet.biz and they claim to be the part of international online investments monetary for funds and I found them right till now and they never cheated me but I am still want to get other people views about this firm registered in Belize.

Regards,

Rosewood.

Jere answers:

I can’t say for sure, but anyone that says they can make you 1.6 – 2.5% a day, is likely running a scam, or a ponzi scheme. Banks pay 3 – 5% a year, and the stock market averages 8 – 12% a year.

The fact that it is out of Belize would also give me pause. Since when did Belize become a ‘hot bed’ of investments?? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Jenny asks…

Is T-qualizer.biz a real website?

I was just wondering because i wanted a shirt from their and dont knowo if the website is real. Help Me!

Jere answers:

Think you mean tqualizer.biz.

Anyway yes. They have been around for a while.

Enjoy the shirts, they are cool!

If you are unsure about a website in the future check out their whois info which will tell you how long the website has been around for and also mcafee have a service called site advisor which will let you know whether or not the site is safe.

Ruth asks…

Share business………………..?

I want to do share business online. How can I start this business? What is the minimum investment? What is the procedure?

Jere answers:

This site gives you all the information you need. Good Luck.

Donald asks…

When someone asks what is a good online business to pursue, can you share the link for you mlm company?

Someone asked this question and I told them how they could make a business for themselves through blogging about something they are passionate about and using affiliate programs. I also told them about a few more ways they could have streams of income coming in through products they create or services they offer. Plus I recommended joining a network marketing company and mentioned that it by itself is a business and of course shared my company link because well, it was answering the question. But my answer did get reported and removed. I mean, I gave a lot of detail and answered the question without being distasteful in how I did it. I guess you’re not allowed to share your link.

Jere answers:

Maybe it’s the type of link? If it’s a self-replicated link, it might get caught and removed… But a legitimate webpage like:
http://JonRPatrick.com
might be okay?

Donna asks…

Online business owners that sell mechandise, etc. How do you handle shipping, storage, etc?

Are there companies that allow you to set up a website, use there products and storage. In other words I looking to start a online business but my concerns are setting a account with wholesales and shipping, storage that is alot. I trying to find a way to eliminate all of that. I will like to fine a ideal situation. If there are any other ideas for sales on line please share.

Jere answers:

Look up Network Marketing. They are a distribution model set up to handle all of the money and the shipping, your responsibility is to promote your business which would be the exact same responsibility if it were not network marketing.

The two major advantages are that its turn key without reinventing the wheel and you leverage your efforts so that when you take a break the money doesn’t stop.

I’ve set up business to order a service they like selling to their customers from Network Marketing. At first they were resistant and then I explained that you don’t store products, you don’t handle any of the shipping or receiving… You just get them their own account and it goes UPS ground to their door and you get paid from their monthly orders. That was enough for them to say, that is very good business sense.

Business minded people who have experience building their businesses get it. People who have never had experience building their own business truly don’t get it. So, you will get answers from people bashing it because they haven’t succeeded or people praising it because they have.

The fact is that all business, regardless of the business model will either be successful or fail as over 90% of businesses will fail before the three year mark. So, you have to look for a turn key business that has tenure, listed with the BBB and DSA and Dun and Bradstreet for stock rating.

Your Questions About Email Marketing Tips

Laura asks…

I want some Email marketing tips?

Could anyone tell me some unknown email marketing tips? Say, how to let a receiver read your email and reply to you rather than delete it without reading?
Give me examples.

Jere answers:

Some great ideas attached. I always try to put the persons name in the subject and something that grabs their attention right away as you have one shot at getting them to open it.

William asks…

Top Tips for Email Marketing Please?

I have a small consulting business and am looking for email marketing tips without being seen as junk or spam. I usually don’t get a big response from companies that I email and so would like to find more effective strategies.

Jere answers:

You can find demographically targeted addresses through email list brokers, in the U.S. Where the Can-Spam act forbids one to contact a person you don’t have a prior relationship with, you get owner of existing opted-in email lists to mail on your behalf, in some cases these are periodical ezines that can insert an advertisement or do a special “solo mailing” for you.

One big director of lists (look under Media Planning / Find a mailing list) is NextMark.com, they do seem to have some U.K. Lists, although more expensive than phone directory sort of lists, you can find people with previous buying histories in your field.

Chris asks…

What would be some good sources that would give good email marketing tips?

Uh never,John K.

Jere answers:

Hi John,
check out the following searches online:

Jimmy Brown (one of the main gurus online for email marketing) He has something called List and Traffic.com which I was a member of for a while.

Also Sarah Brown (she’s good too)

and read through the stuff you find in the Aweber.com website (not sure if you have to be a member or not??)

If you want – I have a number of ebook regarding email marketing and other stuff for success online. Get in touch with me at steve@steveslimm.com if you want. I can send them.

All ther best, Steve

thanks for your time try to answer as many as you can

Jere answers:

Realize that with any business, that you are looking at investment capital.

So in order to get the better quality advertising you are going to pay a little.

There are other ways to promote your product for fee. You can start by getting
a blog and doing a product review for your specific product.

You can also do live product reviews, and while you are doing them, you can
tape them and put them on you tube. You can also find a blog on a website
called “technorati”, that has a following of people, and have the writer of that
blog endorse your product. It will probably be about 25 dollars per post.

So there are many ways, it is just a matter of finding them. Also look for someone
that you can joint venture with, that might sell mouthguards, pads of some sort.
Something along those lines.

Also, a friend of mine recommended a website to me, and having just looked over it briefly
it looked decent. I put it in the source link below.

Take care and good luck.

Ps remember that you do have time on your side in your favor.

Sharon asks…

What are some reputable, fully-accredited colleges that have online degree programs?

^^As mentioned above. Looking for reputable, fully-accredited colleges that offer degree programs online for business admin/management.
Seriously, who cares? It doesn’t matter which learning format you used, what counts is that you’ve the degree.

I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!

Joseph asks…

^^As mentioned above. Looking for reputable, fully-accredited colleges that offer degree programs online for business admin/management.

Jere answers:

Till now I found caluniversity.edu is one of the reputable, fully-accredited colleges with online degree programs.

I just heard about an online contest – “California InterContinental University 2009 Scholarship Prize Essay Contest”. It’s about an essay writing contest and the winner gets prize money.

Ken asks…

Is there any good online Music Business Degree course?

i’ve been google it for quite a time and can’t find any online Music business degree program besides Full Sail university. i like Full Sail but way too expensive. So, i’m looking for a cheaper one. Any suggestion..

Jere answers:

I don’t think it is a wise idea to go for a musical degree online, as music is a kind of subject that is best learn only in a certain environment and with a good teacher. Online is a great platform but not for courses like music. So you will better of learning in a class with a teacher.

Jenny asks…

are there ACCREDITED online Business degrees?

if there is what are some good business schools? there are no campuses close to where i live which is Pike County , PA!! and since im 27 with 2 kids i need to stay within 2 hours of home. I figured maybe there might be a legitimate online degree program for business.

Jere answers:

Hi there. I currently attend Strayer University and am pursuing a Business degree. You can complete your degree entirely online. They even have a great program that allows you to apply for life experience credits, or credit for non-traditional training you may have taken. I have really been happy with Strayer. They are a fully accredited university in several states including PA (I’m in PA myself). Also Strayer is geared towards adult students, so there are plenty of students who are working jobs, going to school and/or raising their families all at the same time.

Feel free to email me if you have questions. I don’t work there or anything. I’m just really happy with my choice!

Richard asks…

If you attended Bellevue University online degree program how did you like it?

Bellevue University is a university located in Bellevue Nebraska and they offer online degree programs as well as campus based programs. Their business degrees are also accredited by IACBE. I was just curious as to others experience with their program. I am considering on continuing my education with them.
In regards to answerer #1- I know it is a traditional school with programs for working adults. Their Masters in Healthcare Administration has the largest enrollment in the nation.

Robert asks…

Does anyone have any online business ideas?

I have been wanting to start my own online business for about a month now and I have came up with some good ideas but they had some legal issues with them. Please don’t say ebay pr affiliate marketing.

Jere answers:

When it comes to business ideas there are a lot. But starting a business that you don’t have any idea about could end up in failure.

So, to start a business identify first what you can offer your customers. Are you selling a product or a service. If your selling a product what could that be, if your selling a service what kind of service can it be.

Know your skills, because your skills will help you become successful in your business.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Jobs

Sharon asks…

What are some of the best internet marketing jobs?

Jere answers:

Well there are great internet marketing jobs but you must find one that suits YOU.
Become a critical thinker.

Sandy asks…

I’m interested in a internet marketing job, but don’t know where to start and who to steer away from.?

I would like to work from my home base computer and was told my best bet would be internet marketing. I am currently a Licensed Real Estate agent is their anthing in marketing that would pertain to my current position?

Jere answers:

Combine internet marketing with real estate.

Do you sell real estate now? Start a website that focuses on a small niche in real estate in your area. Make it informative and interesting to the average reader. Think about everything that a buyer or seller would, could, or should know about your area when they move in.

For instance: What are things that a buyer or seller needs in your area…

For Buyers it might be inspectors and what they should be looking for, interior decorators, pool services, lawn services, car dealers, auto repair stations, things of local interest like farmer’s markets, kids activities, etc.

For sellers it might be house painters, tips for increasing sales, movers, etc.

You can then link with these companies and individuals and let them advertise through your site. The list is unlimited.

You can also go to MySpace and start a profile.

All you have to do to find prospects is to begin searching for people who looking to move in your area soon. You can then add these people to your friends list. If you become the center of information (special cultural events, museums, festivals, etc) for your area, people will naturally gravitate to it. You can also link to a blog or website that has more information. I would avoid trying to sell real estate in MySpace, but you can provide information and education that is well within the Term of Service.

This is a significant advantage over other methods of finding prospects, as it allows you to do so completely free of charge. Furthermore, MySpace has built-in mechanisms that help you to contact these prospects and to warm them up for selling.

One of these mechanisms is a “bulletin.” A bulletin is a message that you send out to all of the friends on your friends list at the same exact time. Regardless of whether you have 10 friends or 40,000 a bulletin will reach them all in a matter of minutes. Next time they open up their profiles, they will all have that bulletin you sent.

How can you use this in your favor? You can send out a bulletin about something related to your business; and then use that to lure them into reading your MySpace.

You can also send out private messages to individual users. This is a good method to use in conjunction with a database. If you are taking the time to invite people individually, also take the time to add them to a database, along with some notes about them. If you think they might want something particularly, you could always send them a private message to let them know you are a seller. You can then offer them a discount if they are interested.

Good luck and e-mail if you have questions on what I wrote.

Thomas asks…

What is Internet Marketing is it RIGHT OR WRONG? How to overcome internet marketing information overload?

Is there any company that offer internet marketing job that can be done fron home i.e. not visiting to office? what about affiliate internet marketing/advertising programs targeted at Nigeria, West Africa? Can anyone recommend a good Internet marketing book or course on getting traffic to my website? Source http://www.onlinejobsforall.com

Jere answers:

There are a lot of internet marketing opportunities available with many offering marketing appeal throughout the world.

Is internet marketing RIGHT or Wrong?… I have been involved with MLM / Network Marketing / Internet Marketing for the past 28 years, and in my opinion, it epitomizes the opportunity of free enterprise in countries that encourage entrepreneurship.

What other business or opportunity affords you the chance to fulfill you dreams and goals with little or no major investment of money. People are making 10’s of thousands of dollars each month in their Network Marketing businesses, others are making a few hundred dollars a month and are grateful for the extra income.

The key to success in Network Marketing is choosing the right company. There are many scams out there, but following a guidline when reseaching your opportunity, you can assure yourself of a good chance to become successful.

When researching these types of companies you want to use the following guidelines:
1. Been in business at least 5 years
2. Financially stable
3. Has product or service with mass market appeal
4. Provides good support and training
5. Has a sensible marketing plan or pay structure
6. Isn’t making outlandish “get rich quick” statements
7. Provides advertising and promotional material
8. Doesn’t require you to stock inventory
9. Has no minimum sponsoring or selling requirements
10. Has no fees to become a member

Working a home business can be the answer to many peoples dreams, however, despite all the ads you may see, it does take a committment on your part of time and effort. If an ad sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t. I am very leary of “get rich quick” type of ads.
I am retired and I work my home business fulltime now and I started out with a total investment of $2.95 and the company I chose meets all the guidlines as listed above. You can check out the links below.

Mandy asks…

Applying for an internet marketing job questions?

Hi, i applied for a job mentioned above and I’m going for an interview tomorrow, any useful tips? What do I have to know? What kind of job is it and what will it include? Is it a good job?

Thanks

Jere answers:

I think the most vital thing is for you to understand what the job is.

‘Internet marketing’ could mean almost anything, from selling advertising space on websites to a cover for something dodgy like selling pornography or mass email spamming. Check if the company is listed at Companies House (basic info is free), do they have a bricks and mortar address that is real, not just a dodgy website. A landline phone number, real employees or just commission-only reps?

You get the idea?

Good luck, and take care.

David asks…

are there really any good mARKETING JOBS ON THE INTERNET?

seriously,Just wondering if there really are any good jobs on the internet.Im homeound now and looking for something

Jere answers:

Nope. All online or Work-at-home jobs on this forum are scams.

Your Questions About Direct Marketing Solutions

Jenny asks…

Has anyone heard of Worldwide Marketing Solutions Ltd or what they do?

I had an interview with them and apparently a direct marketing company but work on 100% commission and your job depends on how many sales you get. But this company seem very dodgy to me because I cannot find any answers, website, contact details or any information about the company and they are supposedly working with British Red Cross! I think that it is a scam or con artists who are stealing peoples money.

Jere answers:

Check it out on www.companieshouse.gov.uk (not open Sundays).

No web presence in that exact name which is problematic.

Check with the Red Cross, see if they;ve heard of them.

George asks…

Does anyone have experience with Equifax marketing solutions…?

more specifically, the geo-demographic information they offer for direct marketing campains? Feed back, and gener cost information would be appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Jere answers:

My name is Kyle martinowich, I have worked in List Services for years. Please give me a shout on email to discuss Equifax services.. Kmartinowich@cornwelldirect.com

Lisa asks…

I want to start a direct email marketing company and would like to know how do i go about it?

I have searched on the net but was not able to get any solution.
Can someone help me with this?

Jere answers:

Regardless of the industry you are in, if you are going to have success online you need to build your own list.

You should include an opt-in form on all of your webpages. Offer your subscribers a gift for signing up. This can be a unique article or e-book, a mini course, plr reports, etc.

Use an autoresponder service to manage your list and send regular emails. The information that you send must be useful and helpful, or you will get a lot of opt-outs.

Once your list is being built and you have built rapport with your subscribers you will have the ability to promote and grow just about any business.

If you have any further questions or need more clarification feel free to contact me using the email in my profile.

To your success
Josh

Mark asks…

how to get a refund from a refund from yahoo marketing solutions / microsoft?

A couple of years ago I was using yahoo marketing solutions for search . Since then my account was sitting idle and few buck on it too. Last year I have discovered that Microsoft bought Yahoo and stopping(or stopped – don’t know – since I don’t use it anymore) the yahoo marketing solutions service and offers the refund the money. I have spend almost hour on the phone by calling to Microsoft to get transferred to Yahoo and back to Microsoft to arrange the refund back to my account. They told me to wait for the money cheque and also promised to refund me money back to my paypal account. Two months later – still not cheque nor money on paypal account. I don’t believe Microsoft does not have 60 USD to refund, but easily believe they don’t care. Is there a direct number in Yahoo / Microsoft I can call to finalize that long running issue or if Yahoo representative can contact me using Yahoo account – that would be great. Thank you.

Jere answers:

They only accept email…….sorry………..and your correct……..they don’t care……….

Daniel asks…

Is Pure Solutions Direct (Coventry) a scam?

Is it purely a glamourised company that mainly deals with door-to-door sales and nothing that is really of the legit marketing and advertising world? A quick answer would be appreciated

Found the ad on reed.co.uk, they responded quite quickly, so im not sure especially after doing pre-interview research, the site is somewhat pretty but quite vague and their clientele, are well….quite vague

Jere answers:

Sounds like it. Not a scam as such, juts a hard slog trying to sell to people who don’t need what you are trying to sell them.

I would stay well clear.

Your Questions About Internet Business For Sale

Lizzie asks…

Where can I find people interested in starting an internet business for less than $80.00?

I am looking for business partners for a business with Internet sales, you can get in for less than $80.00. Does anyone know of a chat site or blog where such people hang out?

Jere answers:

All over

Daniel asks…

What to Sale for an Internet Business?

I am in the process of starting up sn internet business and I was told to come up with things to sale. Does anyone have any ideas on what kind of things are hot right now? I have 10 free websites and I have no idea what kind it should be. What is popular? Any help is great!!!!

Jere answers:

Bad Anwsers from other people. Great ten free websites, I did the same thing I now have over twenty real ones. You can do two things, use you websites for VRE virtual real estate and ad Adsense to all of them . You most likely have ten different sites they are not all on one topic. You should sign up for CLICKBANK, this is the best way to sell other peoples products and get 75% commissions. I make money everyday selling Nothing, you can too with your free websites and get some money to make them real ones. ClickBank and adsense costs $0 to get started, adsense will make you money if people don’t buy and Click Bank will make you lots if they do buy. Stay away from what is popular you will never rank for that type of stuff with a free website.

Thomas asks…

What are the tax liabilities for personal small business internet sales?

I’d like to sell my hand-made jewelry through an internet site through which one can sell hand-made items for a small fee. The site is similar to E-bay. I can’t seem to find information concerning income tax (U.S.) regulations without dredging through IRS guidelines. Does one simply keep track of sales and file a 1099, or does the IRS even monitor this type of income? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Would it be profitable and advantageous to get a tax id. number in order to purchase supplies required for my jewelry?

Jere answers:

Honestly, it depends on two things. First, the website. If they send you 1099s for the sales you make via their site (they should be able to tell you whether or not they do), then you have to report the income.

Secondly, how serious are you about this? Is this going to be a significant source of income, or just an extention of a hobby. The reason I’m asking is this will effect the deductablity of losses. If this is simply a hobby, and there is no 1099, then don’t even worry about reporting it. The IRS will never know.

However, if this is going to be serious, then I suggest that you get an EIN number, and keep track of your expenses. This will more than likely generate a decent loss, and that will lower your taxable income.

My suggestion is to discuss this with your CPA (NOT H&R BLOCK!!!!). If you are located in Kentucky, then I recomend my firm. We specialize in helping individuals who own small ventures such as this one. Hope this helps.

Nancy asks…

Internet business for sale……………….?

I have a patent pending on a “way to do business” on the internet. I want to sell the idea. Do I need a business plan or someone sharp to pitch it for me? What do I need to present to potential buyers? Should I seek to run the business and hope it goes well and then seek a buyer, or just pitch it?
The only problem is that I am a medical professional and not a business professional. I am not sure I would do it justice. I am positive an establihed company would run with it and make it big.

Jere answers:

Let me get this straight.
You want to sell your ideas of making an online
business work….
But…..
Have never done this yourself…? Right…?

Work your new business and prove to yourself and all of us…
That we should buy your ideas…

Okay..?

Chris asks…

I am planning on opening an Internet business, any helpful advice?

I am starting with an ebay business, but within the next 5 years I would like o have a full blown Internet business. I already know what I will be selling, and several sources to purchase from, My husband and I have been in the industry for almost 8 years, in many different aspects. But neither of us have ever been involved in internet sales. We will also be opening a storefront, but in this day and age you can’t get by without the internet side of things. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
I am asking for Marketing advice, but will gladly accept any advice. Thanks
We are talking Kitchenand Bath industry. We have a lot of knowledge in this area already (not that you can have too much)

Jere answers:

First, let me wish you all the luck in the world to achive your dream.

Once you decide to open an online business the you’ll need to decide on what to add on to your web pages.
1. Google Adsense: offers pay per click ads *but its risky because any invalid click may close your account.
2. Clicksor: offers the same pay per click ads..with out the hassle.
3. Bettertext ads…commission based ads/pay for performance ads. You’ll receive a commission for sales that come through your web site.

Betty asks…

What is the fastest and easyist way for me to do my taxes and my small business taxes online?

I need to do my personal taxes, as well as my taxes for my small business taxes.

Note: Yes, I know I missed the Deadline.

Jere answers:

Go to http://finance.yahoo.com/taxes
Here your will find lots of info about tips, dates, guides.
I made it my homepage, and never mist another deadline.
Use tax Act (is free) or Turbo tax and dont miss the deadline next time.
Hope you find this site as helpful as it was to me!

Susan asks…

I would like to start on online business, what taxes do I have to pay?

I will be linking with businesses in other countries, and people can get online, lets say in the US and shop, their family in their home country could go to the participating store and pick up their product. I will charge a fee for that service.

Jere answers:

The Income earned from an online business is taxable. The operating structure of your business determines how much and when you pay taxes to the IRS. You may pay taxes electronically or use deposit coupons.

You pay self-employment tax for Social Security and Medicare tax payments and employment taxes if you have employees. Finally, you pay excise taxes if you are involved in certain types of businesses.

Thomas asks…

Ken asks…

How do I know how much I have to file taxes for an online business?

I sell things over the internet but I have no employee. I just want to know how much I have to file on my taxes in regards to my sales? I mean, do is there a sales tax charge on my online clients? Or I dont have to file these? Where can I get some information about this? Just any info in regards to online business taxation. thabks

Jere answers:

Sales to people in your state are subject to your state’s sales tax and you are required to collect it and render it to the state. Contact your state’s tax authorities for more information.

Any income generated is taxable as self-employment income at both the Federal and State levels.

Steven asks…

Question about Sales Taxes and Online Business?

I saw on the paypal website a checkout form today saying California residents pay a 9.5% sales tax rate. Why does california residents have to pay this rate?
Does a customer paying a sales tax rate depend on where the customer is located or where the business owner’s company is registered? How do I figure out the sales tax to charge my customers? Is there a sales tax applied if a person is purchasing a service–ex. hiring someone to type papers for them?

Jere answers:

Online businesses are supposed to charge tax on sales to customers in any state in which they have a physical presence. In your example, the seller must have been in California so they must charge sales tax to their customers in California.

The tax-ability of services varies by state.

Your Questions About Real Biz Media

Sharon asks…

“FOREVER” and the Game the life/price of fame how far do you think hiphop and artist will go. I would like to?

know did you every think like this:

Its a song by drake and lil wayne and kanye and m&m called forever it’s a verse of kanye when he say “f**k the game yall can have it back.. The point Im trying to make, at times when they sign their name on the dotted line, they are getting into somthing that’s “NWO” no way out… when kids get into the biz at a young age they didnt know their parents just sold them, more than alot are screwed up chick from family matter to lindsay lohan let’s not mention the olsen twins… it’s not a race thing. it’s a thing like they HAVE TO DO IT!!!

The ones that remain TRUE reguardless what the media says they remain the same cause they feel like they can easly go back to their old lifestyle and not scared at all. ones that keep it real Em,nas, Dmx– along with others so they really can talk about tru sh!t in the entertainment world because they got the life they always dreamed of but now it’s a nitemare for some…we can never know how they feel for real.. Mike Jackson got into the biz really young so he knew he couldn’t turn back…that FAME GAME is vicious I sit back and notice how The biggest name or who wanted fame(so bad) tell the story only to find out something tragic happen to a family member from kanye west moms to jennifer hudson family.. Remember when marlon spoke a michael funeral and he mention a twin brother WE NEVER HEARD NOTHING ABOUT HIM HAVING A TWIN, WHAT IF JOE KILLED THAT TWIN(family secrets WE ALL HAVE THEM!!!! (ANYTHING POSSIBLE).. WHAT ABOUT when biggie came out he died(but he knew it was coming that’s why he rapped about it)… What if you have to really part w/ something that suppose to mean value to you to become famous.. it can happen in the first 7 years.

everybody puffy put out leave that world and follow a religion they wish they can talk about it but they run str8 to any religion or change their lyfestyle without reason… like they took some kind of oath but you can feel it’s deeper than they are telling us…

remember Marlyn Monroe committed “suiside” maybe When they start telling the truth about the industry something happen to them VANISH what about TUPAC!!! he talked to much of the business and the reality behind it.. another example even though it’s more like politics but same thing… john f. kennedy….

that’s why I swear it’s hard for real entertainers to come out cause they know they have to do somethings that we cant imagine…. joebudden(please dont say he’s corny never heard his real stuff) still not coming out..Dave Chappel walked away from it and DONT REGRET IT EITHER

The truth hurts at times so they put it in rhymes but you can feel the realness.. Dmx when he said he sold his soul to the devil. He was being real right there, nobody question some of his lyrics, but they question the word n!gga and that word been around so long waaay before hiphop… it could be last nite kanye was really trying to say and do something..but we looked at it as kanye being silly… what if he had strong motives behind what he did..open your mind.

Jere answers:

For John the Baptist has come eating no bread and drinking no wine; and you say, `He has a demon.’ The Son of man has come eating and drinking; and you say, `Behold, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is justified by all her children.”

Joseph asks…

Who helps me with the corrections of this text?

Hello to All!
I’m Italian girl and I have made a text in English but… they are not much sure one of the grammar. (I am denied to English but I engage me much). You would help me to correct some error?

The text is this:

Have you ever thought about beign famous or being successful but not so well-know? For example, you prefer to be famous such us an actor or a fottball player or you prefer to have success in your everyday life? Most people are fascinated by glamour of celebrity, they’re fascinated by their amazing life but this always isn’t real Becuase the poeple of show-biz haven’t a privacy beacuse they’re always controlled by media.
Personally, since when I was small, I always dream to become famous! Nowadays I would become famous such us Sophia Bush! She’s a famous actress who work in a lot of films. She’s a very talent woman and I dream to become one day famous like her! But few people can be successful also because the street for successful is very difficult! You must study for a lot of years and you must have a real talent! So, sometimes I think that it’s easy being successful in your life, in your job, in your family despite becoming famous!

Also of the suggestions they go super well!

Thanx! M.

Jere answers:

I understood what you were saying, but you need some work on ‘use of articles’ (a, the,and so forth).
This is more how we would say it in English:

Have you ever thought about being famous or just being successful but not so well-known? For example, if you would like to be famous such us an actor or a football player or would you like to simply have success in your everyday life? Most people are fascinated by the glamour of celebrity; they’re fascinated by such an amazing life, but this isn’t always real because people in show-biz have no a privacy. They’re always controlled by media.
Personally, since I was young, I’ve always dreamed of becoming famous! Nowadays I would want to become famous like Sophia Bush! She’s a famous actress who works in many films. She’s a very talented woman, and I dream of becoming famous like her one day! But few people can be successful because the street to success is very difficult! You must study for a lot of years and you must have a real talent! So, I guess I think that it’s easier to become successful in your life, in your job, or in your family in spite of not becoming famous!

Also, please make the suggestions go super well!

Chris asks…

question for facebook “expert”. should I do a group, page or profile?

Hello Guys! Ok, here is my question and I know it has been asked in the past but… I see it was asked over a year ago and facebook has changed a lot since then. This question is for somebody who knows a LOT about facebook and all that they CURRENTLY have to offer.
I own a website that is also an actual business. it is an advertising thing for nightlife, etc. I want to have a presence on facebook as well but not sure if I should try:

1: a regular profile but put my website name info instead of my real name

2: A group

3: A page ( which I heard that recently, they made it very similar to a regular profile ).

Im quite confused on which to do. basically, I want to gather a lot of friends of course. I want to post event information that I am promoting ( jpg flyers ), links to articles written on my website, and general nightlife updates. and when i send out an invite, update, etc, id like for all of the friends to see that ( or get an email )

I heard that if I did a page, that i cant send messages out that will get sent to my friends but not sure if that is still the case. I know they changed things recently.

I really dont know which to choose. I see that big name businesses ( like CNN, etc ) use pages but not sure what is best for me.

again, it is a nightlife website that writes reviews about hotspots, posts pictures, event announcements,ad’s, etc ). It seems like every biz has facebook too but not sure which what to set it up. I have googled this many times but the articles out there are old and facebook has changed a bit from what I have been told, since then.

I have to mention 1 thing. I do see a lot of business like bars just using a regular profile. for example, lets say it is called “oak tree bar”. they will make a regular profile just make their 1st name OAK TREE and thier last name BAR but I heard that facebook will eventually delete those. then again, im not a biz like that, im a website that does advertising and media coverage.

what format do you suggest and what is the plus’s and minuses?

thanks

Jere answers:

You should make a page, you will be able to do most of the stuff that you want to do. Making another profile wouldn’t work as well.

Will Internet Marketing Work for Your Business?

This is an extremely difficult question to answer because there are so many complex factors involved. Specifically they techniques you employ in your Internet marketing campaign as well as the execution of these techniques can determine whether or not Internet marketing will work for your business. Additionally, the likelihood of your target audience using the Internet and responding to your marketing efforts should also be considered into the equation. This article will outline the potential for success in an Internet marketing campaign.

Before making the decision to embark on an Internet marketing campaign you should carefully consider your target audience. The Internet is used widely around the world but whether or not members of your target audience are likely to utilize the Internet to research or purchase the products or services you sell is not guaranteed. This is significant because investing a great deal of time, effort and money into Internet marketing when your target audience is not likely to respond to these efforts is not worthwhile.

Conducting market research can do a great deal to help you determine whether or not you should invest in an Internet marketing campaign for your business. This step is very important because it will give you a good indication of whether or not you should even begin marketing your business on the Internet. Hiring a firm specializing in market research is recommended because they can conduct this research quickly and efficiently and will likely gain a great deal of valuable information as a result of their research efforts. If they determine your business can benefit from an Internet marketing campaign, it is time to start thinking about how you want to advertise your business online.

Again, seeking the help of professionals can be an extremely worthwhile investment. If you are not well versed in the industry of Internet marketing, hiring a firm with a great deal of expertise in this industry can be very helpful. They can assist you by consulting with you to determine which marketing strategies will be most effective, designing advertisements for your campaign, helping you to orchestrate your Internet marketing campaign and evaluating the results of marketing efforts to determine which strategies are working and which are not.

The potential for success with an Internet marketing campaign is virtually limitless. The success you enjoy is only limited by your ability to promote your products and services and execute effective marketing strategies. Some of the marketing strategies you may wish to employ may include optimizing your website for relevant search terms, placing links to your website judiciously on the Internet, writing and publishing e-newsletters and utilizing affiliates to promote your website.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the most important aspects of any Internet marketing campaign. SEO is so important because it dictates the ranking of your website on popular search engines. Internet users value these results and are not likely to seek out websites which do not rank well with search engines. Conversely, high ranking websites can enjoy a great deal of increased website traffic as a result of these rankings.

Inbound links to your website are also important in Internet marketing. Inbound links are links on other websites which direct users to your website. These links are important in an Internet marketing campaign. First of all many search engines factor inbound links into their ranking algorithms which means inbound links can result in higher search engines rankings. Also, these links can be used directly by website users to access your website. This means you can gain traffic directly from these links.

Another way to enjoy a successful Internet marketing campaign is to orchestrate an affiliate marketing campaign. Affiliates are essentially website owners who place a banner ad on their website to direct traffic to your website. Typically, affiliates are only compensated when the advertisement on their website produces a desired effect such as enticing the users to click through the advertisement, resulting in a sale or resulting in another action such as filling out a survey or registering with your website. Affiliate marketing can not only be highly effective but it is also cost effective because you only pay the affiliates when they produce results.

Your Questions About Business Online Services

Sandra asks…

how to start online business for services?

Jere answers:

Register your DBA or incorporate. Secure your website URL (Yahoo is great for that!). If you plan to retail, get your Sales Tax ID number. If you don’t plan to sell items, you prob. Don’t need that. Be sure to follow local and industry-specific permit requirements. Then, market your website to your target market!

If you want great FREE business advice, especially on start-up questions, go to http://www.score.org and find your local chapter. They are a SBA affiliated nonprofit volunteer group that offers FREE business consulting. You can sit 1:1 with a volunteer consultant with experience and they can give you great advice. Thanks!

Betty asks…

Can Do services online such as graphic design without a business license?

Could I do such services online as Graphic Design without getting a business license in my state.? Most of the people that have been getting graphics from me use paypal. I just need to know is it necessary to?

Jere answers:

I had the same question a year ago. I am located in Missouri, and here they DO in fact require a business license for ANY business you are providing including services like graphic design. I know that a lot of designers don’t take the time to get one, but I did just to be safe. I don’t want to get in trouble for anything. Here a graphic design business license is $50/year. It’s well worth getting to remove the fear and worry.

Good luck

Can I Do Services online such as graphic design without a business license?

Could I do such services online as Graphic Design without getting a business license in my state.? Most of the people that have been getting graphics from me use paypal. I just need to know is it necessary to?

Jere answers:

On line and off

a biz license is not ‘really needed’ till you have a commercial site and this is your full means of income.

No one will demand to see a license

I used to suggest to everyone; license, sales tax permit, etc
but then, I understood the difference between the entrepreneur’s needs and the city’s.

To heck with the city till the E earns a profit

Steven asks…

Are there any cyber money systems for a small online business?

I want to start an online service business. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could add a cyber money system to my website? This is a system in which the customer purchases a certain $ amount in exchange for “cyber money” or points on the website.

Jere answers:

RIght now there is no central system of CyberMoney. Each site has its own money. Online worlds like Second Life where you can buy stuff with fake money or real money. You might make a lot of money if you become the first to create a real market for cybermoney..
