Okay, so the FASTEST way to start earning money on the internet if by using Pay Per Click or PPC advertsing to drive clicks to sites that sell things. Do a google search – see those things on the right side? They are ads. You can by them just like I can. They are called Google AdWords. Microsoft has MSN AdCenter and Yahoo has it to. And there are others.

You can purchase ads to send customers to clickbank or other sites and profit if that customer purchases. This is a VERY effective method, but if you don’t know what you’re doing it can be VERY expensive. You HAVE to know what you are doing. Of course the best course would be to go through a lawyer not only to give you legal advice but to prepare the proper documentation.

What ever State you live in you must collect the tax on all sales in that state. If you have a business registered in Nevada, Wyoming
or another tax free state, and your company is located outside that state, then you will pay income tax to the state you operate in. If no other state claims your company and you do business in California, that state will tax you on gross sales for the year even if you are registered in another state. To avoid problems here is the simple answer. Form a c corp. Hire it to manage your business and pay yourself a base salary. Fill out the paperwork with the Secretary of states office as a foreign corporation and pay the fees. Open a corporate bank account in the tax free state where you have incorporated and set up a payment plan for your salary with deductions automatically with the bank. All state and federal taxes will be deducted. As an “employee” operating outside of the corporate state, no state can lay claim to your corporate tax if your base location is in a tax free state. Hire a lawyer as a registered agent and all mail will be sent to his/her office and fore-worded back to you in what ever state you live in.

Online banking is a bigger term than simply online bill pay. There are several ways your bank can pay your payee – one is that they simply mail a check. The other, if they do a lot of business with the payee, is to simply make an electronic payment (ACH) to your payee – usually places like your electric company. You could try to use a debit card issued by credit card companies in partnership with local banks to open a Paypal account. I am not 100% sure of this but you can try it out.

If you have family members, relatives or friends with credit cards, you can ask to use it for 1 time only. You do not actually need a credit card to make payments because you can send money orders to Paypal to top-up your account. The credit card is more to verify your identity.

You can register a Paypal account in Malaysia to send and receive money but you can’t withdraw money in your Paypal account into a local bank account. Your money is stuck online and you can either send to someone else or use it to make online payments.

Make a trip to Singapore and open a bank account there. There are no restrictions on Malaysians opening bank accounts in Singapore. The great news is that Paypal allows money to be withdrawn into Singapore bank accounts.

Singapore banks have online banking services and you can transfer money from your Singapore bank account to Malaysia. Of course, you will incur funds transfer fees but at least now you can withdraw money from your Paypal account.

An employer is most likely not going to respect an online MBA degree from University of Phoenix. Since I know how much University of Phoenix costs, I would wonder about the UoP MBA graduate’s cost management skills.

Why spend over $700 per semester credit hour for an MBA program that is not AACSB accredited? Especially when there are AACSB accredited programs that are much cheaper. For those who don’t know, AACSB accreditation is an additional program accreditation for business programs. It is over and above regional accreditation. I believe that all big state universities have AACSB accreditation for their business programs.

If you have the option of attending your local university, that would probably be best. If you have to attend online, Mississippi State University has an AACSB accredited MBA program for $444 per semester credit hour. Http://www.distance.msstate.edu/

Keep in mind that your choice of school, probably matters more than the specific degree. An online degree from Harvard, Penn State, Stanford or Columbia is going to be more accepted than a degree from University of Phoenix or Capella–regardless of the field.

You’ll probably be better off in your career, picking a field that you enjoy and trying to go to a well recognized school. Your choice of school matters more than the field when it comes to how people will view your degree.

It is true that online degrees are often of lower quality. (DEPENDING on the university/school you attend).

Example: I’m getting my masters through KU. I know all the professors teaching the classes are real professors. They are very knowledgable in their fields. If you ask questions they know the answer and could even list several good books on the subject.
A friend of mine is getting his through a wimpier school. Most of his classes have been taught by principals from different schools. Sure, they are knowledgeable, but it isn’t close.

Online degrees are like that: you aren’t getting the benefit from a truly knowledgable professor.

I did take a couple of online classes back when I was thinking about quiting teaching. I know that (FOR ME) I am just not very motivated by online courses. I don’t study as hard. Some more technical and trade colleges may have certifications for such, but traditionally you’d get a BA in Business Administration with an concentration in Marketing. Most reputable colleges will have curriculum that covers Internet Marketing during your major.

Also important to find an internship or employment that also provides real world experience. That way when you graduate you’ll have both the degree and some experience that you can use on your resume with potential employers.

If people and companies paid their taxes right, then your argument is a moot point, since the tax will be collected by a state. Sales tax revenues are huge for states that do collect sales tax. Well, to be able to pass high school you need a minimum of 30 passed credits. 18 of those credits are compulsory; 4 English, 3 math, 2 science, 1 language (French, Spanish…), 1 physical education course, 1 arts course, 1 Canadian history course, 1 Canadian geography course, then 0.5 civics and 0.5 careers. On top of this one additional compulsory course from each of the following groups; a) English, French, native language, social sciences, humanity, Canadian studies, b) physical education, art, business, French, c) French, computer studies, technology, or an additional science. All of the other twelve are yours to choose! You also need to have at least 40 hours of community service and have passed the grade 10 Literacy Test. Don’t get too worried though, you can technically stay in school until you are 21 years of age!

Dude, have I got the help for you. I’ve just gone through all this mess trying to start a movement here in Tacoma. First things first, you have to have a name that grabs peoples attention, both for the group and for the forum. Then you pitch the idea to local groups, like the Democrats or the Greens or some other local organization. If you’re shy, you can spread the word via email lists, forums, message boards, or other media. Then when you get a few hits of people who are interested, you can ask them if they have any resources you can use. Use the cheapest means available to raise awareness of your event. If there are community calendars or bulletin boards at places of social significance, plaster them liberally.

Start a blog. Check out the one I started at www.apctahoma.blogspot.com There you can see that I really created the whole concept right there on the spot. Property & Casualty allows you to sell auto, homeowner’s, and other similiar coverages to individuals. For businesses you can sell General Liability, Professional Liability, Business Auto, Worker’s Comp, etc..

Life and Health allows you to sell life, health, disability, annuities, etc.. To individuals. For businessess employee benefits such as group health, life, disability, dental, vision, etc..

As for which one is best for you that partially depends on where you live, what type of products you would rather sell, and how you see yourself progessing in the industry.

The pros of “Property & Casualty” insurance is almost all businesses are required to have one or more of the coverages. General liability coverage is required if a businesses leases office space, Worker’s Comp is required by law in most states if the employer has 2 or more employees, professional liability is required by certain industries like malpractice, errors and ommissions covarage for insurance agents, etc.. On the individual side most states require auto insurance and all homeowner’s that have a mortgage are required to have homeowner’s insurance. However these products have lower commissions on average than life & health based insurances. So I would say easier to sell, probably higher volume, but smaller commissions.

Life & Health based insuarnces offer the ability to make more money on the sale of the products, but take more selling skills because the need is not always apparant or at least for the premium being quoted. Life and health allows for alot of cross selling for example: a 35 year old couple with a newborn child may initially need health insuarnce, but other needs like life and disability insuarnce may be prevalent too. Also, the Life & Health industry allows for an easy transition or progression to the financial services industry. Many financial planners start off as a life & health agent and it adds a further dymanic of trust to the client relationship as well as more cross selling opportunities to college planning retirment planning, estate planning, etc..

Either way you should talk with local professionals in both sides. You can also visit the industry organizations websites. I am not sure of one for the property and casuality industry but for the life and health industry you can check out NAHU “National Association of Health Underwriters”, AHIP “American Health Insurance Plans”, and NAIFA “National Association of Insurance and Financial Professionals”

Here’s the reality about “simple commercial websites”. They don’t exist, at least, not in the real world. A website is easy enough to make, if given enough time to complete, but as soon as you add the option to place orders and make payments, the entire process becomes ten times more difficult. Not impossible, just far more challenging. Here’s the bottom line. To make the website itself, you are likely going to need an HTML editor program that will allow you to build the site. Sure, you can use Dreamweaver if you wish, but know that most of the “experts” here suggest Dreamweaver without actually knowing how to use the program themselves. I certainly don’t, it’s not an easy program to use. Look at some of the question in here. A lot have to do with how to use Dreamweaver. I would suggest a simpler program with less of a learning curve. Then you are going to need a merchant account and a gateway provider to handle your online transactions. All this must be done in a secure environment that would necessitate the inclusion of a secure network on your server that will manage all the online transactions. Or, you can go with PayPal to start off. They offer a good startup program for new merchants and the fees are relatively low. As for PHP, forget it. If you don’t know HTML, PHP will leave you lost and frustrated. It’s a complex language to use and some experience is necessary to get this code to work for you.

I would start by doing some simple research to find out if the cost is going to justify building the website in the first place, then start researching what software and services are available that would make the process of getting your online business off the ground. The truth is, the quicker you get the site up, the faster you can offer products, but speed should not become more of a priority than a quality website that people will trust to make purchases from.

On the other hand, ftp backup requires that you put your information across the Internet, into someone else’s hands. The external hard drive option is probably the best one (I do this) – I’d *suspect* that the reason that it takes forever is that you’re using a USB1.0 external drive, or plugging the drive onto a USB1.0 port. If that’s the case, upgrading to USB2.0 would be very cheap and speed up your data transfers.

No, it’s not challenging at all. Most people that go there either don’t have the grades for a good school or they don’t have the time to attend a real university. So most other people don’t really study that much either.

There’s a reason the school has a 1-800 number and advertises to you. It’s more of a product they are selling to you than an education. Often times they add classes over time, so people take even longer for their degrees and may never get it. Their graduation rate is pretty low from what I’ve heard.

As a matter of fact, I don’t think any of these schools with 1-800 numbers are really good schools. I mean you don’t even have to pay for the phone call to call them. So you figure it out. I wouldn’t really recommend going there, but they make a lot of money because many people are short on time these days. Not sure how employers will value their degrees.

Unfortunately with Windows there are only 3 ways you can do what you want…

1) Install the software on your new PC. Can’t do that because you have no install medium.

2) Duplicate the whole hard drive onto a new disk (using any partition manager software) which will duplicate the OS, the video drivers, the sound card etc etc etc. So you’d end up with a cloned disk drive… And you’d have to upgrade that disk to suit your new PC and new OS. It’s a slog and a pain and doesn’t get you a nice clean OS with nice clean applications. It also ties you to using an OS that the application will work under… So if it was a Win95 app you may find it won’t work with XP or Vista or the next app on. Or it may not work on the next file system layout.

3) Work out exactly what files are needed and what registry entries are needed and copy them over to the new PC.

Alternatively, can you export your data, reformat it to suit a currently available package and switch packages?

Or pay a developer to write a program to get the data out and into a new application.

Or maybe you can find someone out there with an install set for the product… Someone may have kept the installer download rather than just using it to install from and then deleting it.

I would suggest that you make a complete and exact transcription of your idea in complete detail. Print a copy and mail it to yourself via “Certified mail, return receipt requested. Do not open the letter when you get it back. I should contain the date you wrote it and the envelope will remain sealed and will act as proof that you had the idea first. This will be your bonified proof of your claim.

The role of an entrepreneur is to pull together the team needed to satisfy an idea. So really, the skills you need are persuasion skills, networking skills, tenacity and desire. If you have all these, then it may work. Try and refine your idea into a business plan. It doesn’t need to be too comprehensive (unless you’re trying to convince an investor), just focus on the important things like who your target audience are, how your would reach them, and then do some numbers of how much you would (reallistically) make and how much it would cost.

Pick up some business books for some background reading at the same time – the lloydstsb small business book, a marketing book etc. You might want to contact someone like businesslink, who can help in various aspects of business.

You also need to be networking, looking for people with the right skills to carry out at least year 1 of your plan. They need to be convinced by your story, so make sure it at least convinces you first! I find linkedin very useful for finding and maintaining business contact. Good luck.

Essentially NO, they could easily make a few changes to your idea and present it as their own, and if you say he’s a computer expert then he could probably afford to hire the lawyers needed to counter-sue you to oblivion if you tried to take it to court too. Your best bet is to just hold onto that idea until early next year, things are too just too hectic this month to take any business prospects seriously. Trust me, wait until at least early january next year, things will become infinitely clearer and you’ll be glad you waited it out.
