What to Sale for an Internet Business?

I am in the process of starting up sn internet business and I was told to come up with things to sale. Does anyone have any ideas on what kind of things are hot right now? I have 10 free websites and I have no idea what kind it should be. What is popular? Any help is great!!!!

Jere answers:

Bad Anwsers from other people. Great ten free websites, I did the same thing I now have over twenty real ones. You can do two things, use you websites for VRE virtual real estate and ad Adsense to all of them . You most likely have ten different sites they are not all on one topic. You should sign up for CLICKBANK, this is the best way to sell other peoples products and get 75% commissions. I make money everyday selling Nothing, you can too with your free websites and get some money to make them real ones. ClickBank and adsense costs $0 to get started, adsense will make you money if people don’t buy and Click Bank will make you lots if they do buy. Stay away from what is popular you will never rank for that type of stuff with a free website.

What are the tax liabilities for personal small business internet sales?

I’d like to sell my hand-made jewelry through an internet site through which one can sell hand-made items for a small fee. The site is similar to E-bay. I can’t seem to find information concerning income tax (U.S.) regulations without dredging through IRS guidelines. Does one simply keep track of sales and file a 1099, or does the IRS even monitor this type of income? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Would it be profitable and advantageous to get a tax id. number in order to purchase supplies required for my jewelry?

Jere answers:

Honestly, it depends on two things. First, the website. If they send you 1099s for the sales you make via their site (they should be able to tell you whether or not they do), then you have to report the income.

Secondly, how serious are you about this? Is this going to be a significant source of income, or just an extention of a hobby. The reason I’m asking is this will effect the deductablity of losses. If this is simply a hobby, and there is no 1099, then don’t even worry about reporting it. The IRS will never know.

However, if this is going to be serious, then I suggest that you get an EIN number, and keep track of your expenses. This will more than likely generate a decent loss, and that will lower your taxable income.

My suggestion is to discuss this with your CPA (NOT H&R BLOCK!!!!). If you are located in Kentucky, then I recomend my firm. We specialize in helping individuals who own small ventures such as this one. Hope this helps.

Nancy asks…

Internet business for sale……………….?

I have a patent pending on a “way to do business” on the internet. I want to sell the idea. Do I need a business plan or someone sharp to pitch it for me? What do I need to present to potential buyers? Should I seek to run the business and hope it goes well and then seek a buyer, or just pitch it?
The only problem is that I am a medical professional and not a business professional. I am not sure I would do it justice. I am positive an establihed company would run with it and make it big.

Jere answers:

Let me get this straight.
You want to sell your ideas of making an online
business work….
But…..
Have never done this yourself…? Right…?

Work your new business and prove to yourself and all of us…
That we should buy your ideas…

Okay..?

I am planning on opening an Internet business, any helpful advice?

I am starting with an ebay business, but within the next 5 years I would like o have a full blown Internet business. I already know what I will be selling, and several sources to purchase from, My husband and I have been in the industry for almost 8 years, in many different aspects. But neither of us have ever been involved in internet sales. We will also be opening a storefront, but in this day and age you can’t get by without the internet side of things. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks
I am asking for Marketing advice, but will gladly accept any advice. Thanks
We are talking Kitchenand Bath industry. We have a lot of knowledge in this area already (not that you can have too much)

Jere answers:

First, let me wish you all the luck in the world to achive your dream.

Once you decide to open an online business the you’ll need to decide on what to add on to your web pages.
1. Google Adsense: offers pay per click ads *but its risky because any invalid click may close your account.
2. Clicksor: offers the same pay per click ads..with out the hassle.
3. Bettertext ads…commission based ads/pay for performance ads. You’ll receive a commission for sales that come through your web site.
