Hello,
I want to start a small garment business in Malaysia. I am contemplating two options: 1. sole proprietorship (online) 2. partnership with a local. My questions are:
1. Can I go on tourist visa and get sole prop online business registered. Will I get another visa to stay for a long period there to look after the business.
2. If answer for 1 is no then Should I go on tourist visa and get partnership with a local and register business to stay and do business there.
3. How much it costs to have company registered there and what are the basic formalities/requirements.

I have been experimenting online business during my free time for the past two years. Bad progress due to information overload and freebies overload. You can earn some money but to earn good money and consistently every month, get a mentor.
If there is another world internet summit next year in Malaysia or Singapore, may I suggest that you attend it.
I attended in May this year and it really gives me a good overview.
If you want to learn karate, do you learn from the black belts or the yellow belt?
Likewise, the speakers at the world internet summit are all millionaires….making money from internet.
If you want to get your feet wet, the suggestion is to get involved in some business that you are good at or your hobbies.
Reason…it is a long journey to be very successful in internet marketing. By doing a business where the product is your hobby, it helps to sustain your interest along the tough and long journey.
There are many aspects of internet marketing that you need to learn. One of the more important one is on traffic generation. This is very much like prospecting in offline business. Takes up a lot of time.
Then you have to build relationship with your subscribers if you want long term business.
