Your Questions About Doing Business Online

James asks…
I’m want to start an online business but don’t know how to go about doing it. Any advice?
I am looking to start an online business. I’ve already got the idea of what i’m going to be selling and have even found distributors and looked over the products. How do I go about purchasing a domain and finding a web host? How much do these usually cost? How do I register my business? And, how do I go about accepting payments? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Lizzie asks…
how would i open up a business online doing this if im only 15?
so i’ve gotten into this thing where i like making my own phone cases and making some other stuff like that. but i want to start selling them to people and i think the best way to do that would be online but how would i even start that?

Jere answers:
By far the easiest way and the best way to have a large potential customer base is by joining ebay.
1) Open a paypal account by linking it to a debit card on your bank account
2) Join ebay and link the account to your paypal account.
3) Start listing your items – it is cheapest to have only one photograph, and you should accept only paypal. You could accept cheque as well, but if you only use ebay then you don’t have to give your name away to anybody and that gives you an extra layer of security and safety online.
Strategy – sell the cheapest items first, items that are no more than a pound, to build up a good feedback rating. If you have items lying around the house that you could sell at this value that would be a good place to start. Note – this has nothing to do with the items you intend to sell eventually, but what it means is that you will build up a good feedback rating so that people trust you and will buy from you. A large number of users only make bids on items sold by sellers with good feedback ratings.
You will have a hard time selling anything of high value at the start when you have relatively little feedback. The more positive feedback ratings you get, the easier you will find it to sell things.
Good luck!

Robert asks…
Do i have any legal problems in doing online business in different countries?
I have registered my business in only one country. This online service caters to the whole world and i would like to know the legalities of this. Thanks in advance.

Jere answers:
You only register your business in your country of residence where the actual business activities take place. Web is global, and there is no requirement for any merchant to register their business in every place that they are able to get visitors. You only register where you pay your taxes.
So don’t worry on this aspect. I’ve been doing business on the Web since the late 1990s and I never have to register in other countries.

Sharon asks…
If I have an online business in NJ must I file incorporation paperwork in all states I am doing business in?
Let me clarify. If I am running an online candy business from my home in NJ and my customers are both from NJ and other states, must I have paperwork (incorporation, tax ID, etc) filed in every state or just in NJ? If so, what would I need to file? I just want to make sure I have everything I need before starting my business.

Jere answers:
If you don’t have a physical presence in the other states, you do not have to register there.

Nancy asks…
How can I make money doing business online?

Jere answers:
Hi. After years of trial and error and wasted time and money learning how to make money online I have finally learned one thing – adult websites are by far the fastest and easiest way to quickly begin earning online.
If you are serious about an adult website you either need to provide your own content or team up with a good affiliate program. Since you’re asking this – I will assume you don’t have content 😉 I use a web cam site with a well known, established affiliate program to generate about $750 – $1200 per month every month quickly and easily. I get paid every single week and earn up to $80 for every FREE member I refer to my site. You also get a $50 CASH bonus just for signing up. You don’t have to pay anything to get started and my program is staffed 24/7 with affiliate support reps to ensure you know how to make money. I currently convert better than 1 in 150 unique visitors, so I know for a fact this is a great web cam affiliate program. Check out my blog for more info – look for the “Adult Webmasters Wanted” page on the upper right hand side of the page. Good luck!
