Ken asks…
How do I get my business plan to potential investors?
I have completed my business plan for a new internet, request based business idea. Are there companies that can be hired as a broker to attract investor capitol. How do I get my plan into the hands of the right people but protect myself from being pirated. I understand the use of a NDA but will I even get the time of day if I start with a NDA. Are there companies to help newbees

Jere answers:
Start off by going to the Yahoo! Home page and doing a search on venture capital firms.
What you are probably looking for is/are Angel Investors. These people are investors — not business operators. In general, they are not interested in stealing your ideas. What they are looking for is opportunities to get a big payoff when a business they invested in succeeds.
Don’t expect every prospective investor you contact to be interested. Some will be fully invested, some will not be interested in the industry you plan on operating in, some will think your idea and plan aren’t worth the paper they are written on, and so on.
Be persistent. Ask for feedback from everyone you show your plan to and if necessary, modify the plan.
Hope this helps

Susan asks…
What is the business plan layout? ?
I have researched on the internet on business plans layout.
However i won’t be using the business plan to sell shares of my business.
It is simply so that i can have a better understanding of how my business will work.
Can anyone give me a list of the sections to include or what to write?

Jere answers:
Here’s some stuff you must include:
1. Title Page
2. Executive Summary
3. Table of Contents
4. Introduction
5. The Company
6. Management Team
7. The Product/Service
8. The Market
9. The Competition
10. Sales Plan
11. Financing
You must especially talk about your marketing mix (the five Ps) – how you will manipulate them during different seasons to maximize profits. That’s very crucial. You must also talk about how you would obtain financing – either through stock equity (by selling stocks) or debt equity (by borrowing from the bank).

Michael asks…
