You are the only one that can figure that out. You need to do some market research and write a business plan. Go to HTTP://sba.gov , HTTP://www.score.org or HTTP://www.bplans.com for instructions on how to write a business plan and sample business plans.

When does creating a different identity become illegal?
Say you always wanted a different cool name, and it just so happens that a gmail address is available under that new name.
Then proceed to a business scenario where you may deal with a company that produces dies for a business and you want to use this name, however your billing / card is under your real name.
Is this ok? It isn’t a direct attempt to lie, but my real emails are full of shit, and I can’t unsubscribe from many of these damn online services.

You can use any name for a gmail as long as you don’t pretend to be someone else.

Some of the answers here offered a home BUSINESS you do NOT want to get involved with that as it is speculative and you have to outlay money and most of them are scams. This is a list of real companies that use telecommuters and all are legit. Pay varies most of it is customer service and requires typing skills and phone skills and a quiet area to work, when you apply they tell you what you need for work. I work at home and have for over a year and love it; I work part time and make more money than when I worked full time. I do customer service.

EDIT: I do NOT recommend Pauline’s advice re Ameriplan, I looked into that and it is not something you would want to do. It is NOT what she makes it sound like, it is a pyramid scheme and she gets money for every person she recruits, so beware.

Is there a paypal alternative allowing adult content and having a layer of discreetness by only showing nicks?
I would like to sell a small amount of adult/erotic/pornographic drawings online, while keeping that sort of work seperated from my normal work.
I don’t mind setting up an account with my real name as long as transactions/payments will be received with a nick-name/alias.
Most of the online services I found were either very expensive (high fees, 60%+ share per transaction etc.), or show the real name of users during a transaction.
There are quite a lot of artists out there that have similar problems, none of them could really help thus far.

Paypal personal account doesn’t allow digital adult art to be sold without only as download/email.
Verotel ticketclub needs a website with memeber area and doesn’t allow “personal transactions” without it. Other Verotel options are very expensive for such a small enterprise.

Set up a merchant account through paypal, you will need a business account at your local bank, I do the same thing you do and that’s how i do it
