Starting next week ABC will devote several of it’s daily programs to the direct marketing of Obama Care direct from the White House to you. Guess it’s been so successful for drug companies Obama expects you’ll buy his care too.

Jere answers:

The salvation army took it into the streets a long time before columbia record club or american express but with the invent of the Guttenberg printing press England began seeing ads around the latter 1500’s. During the late1600’s in fact, William Penn put out postal cards for people to take an interest in moving to Pennsylvania here in America. But I am sticking with the Salvation Army ringing thier bells asking for change since the great depression.

Steven asks…

What best ideas are for direct marketing , any ideas which direct marketing tools? to use ?

when using these direct marketing tools , how these methods could help the company ?

Jere answers:

Start your own community/niche newspaper that is appropriate for you. If you do it right, you can even make a profit on the newspaper and at the same time advertise, build name recognition, and establish yourself as an expert in a particular field.

Sell ad space in the newspaper to other non-competing businesses and you can pay for the newspaper and possibly make a profit as well. Distribute to the local community in restaurants, Dr’s offices, libraries, schools, etc. Make sure you have good content and articles that appeal, inform, and help.

I do this for a local church and it has done wonders. I found a lot of helpful information and even pricing at http://www.makemynewspaper.com. A newspaper from this company can be less expensive than a flyer!

It is one of the best direct marketing ideas I have stumbled upon in recent years.

Hope this helps!
