Your Questions About Direct Marketing News

Lizzie asks…

Are low P/E’s a valid reason to buy stocks? FOR SMART FINANCE GURUS?

Check out this article from the WSJ about a year back:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB120509621571622833.html?mod=hps_us_whats_news

I”m having a bit of trouble following it. If someone could break down the external factors that do not necessarily correlate to a direct relation Between market performance and P/E ratios I would appreciate it.

Jere answers:

First, remember that there are two different P/E ratios commonly used, the trailing P/E ratio and the forward P/E ratio.

The trailing P/E ratio uses actual earnings over the last year as the divisor. That can make the ratio misleading if
(1) Some extraordinary event has a large impact on earnings that will not be repeated in the future or
(2) Some event did not have an impact on past earnings but will have a big impact on future earnings.

I can give you a single example that at one time caused the trailing P/E ratio for DuPont to be less than 2. DuPont owned Conoco Oil and sold it. That cause a huge jump in earnings the quarter that the sale took place, but simultaneously reduced future earnings.

The forward P/E ratio uses expected future earnings over the next year as the divisor in the ratio. That obviously eliminates both of the problems I mentioned with using the trailing P/E ratio, but equally obviously the forward P/E ratio is only as accurate as the estimate of future earnings. A single unexpected event will make the forward P/E inaccurate, and most companies experience multiple unexpected events every year.

Another thing to consider, whether you use a trailing P/E ratio or a forward P/E ratio, is that in some cases there is no meaningful P/E ratio. The biggest pecentage gains I have ever made in stocks have been from companies I bought while they were losing money. Since there were no earnings, there were no meaningful P/E ratios. (I should add that the largest stock percentage losses I have ever had, 100%, also came from companies I bought while they were losing money.) The point is that if a company is plowing all the money they can into growing the company, it may lower the P/E ratio but improve the long-term performance of the stock.

So, in answer to your original question, low P/E ratios are NOT a valid reason to buy a stock UNLESS you also conisider other factors that have an impact on earnings.

Ken asks…

Will a child become confused if raised by GAYS, and suffer?

Sypnosis
What is “Normal ” ? Oxford English Dictionary:
adjective; conforming to a standard ; usual, typical, or expected:

Because of the very Environment & Surroundings& Social Company, and Biased Media Advertising, a child is very likely become “psychologically conditioned”, and so the same child is very likely “become” gay if he has GAY parents. And this possibility is magnified disproportionately when in the company gays.

The Environment and Daily Surrounding (The Home). This is the Direct influence. At home you’ll have all gay ideologies and orientation in discussion, language and culture/entertainment. It is here that direct “psychological conditioning” takes place, because the people that are closest to you will be the most influencing. That’s why, for example, on the whole, youngsters that live in deprived areas with gang culture are more lively to become gang members because the people closest to them are the gang member’s instead of parents; or just like a teacher, who’s child is likely to have good Education and Qualifications because it explained that education is important for life; or a Business Man who’s child will follow into the business profession Such as Donald Trump and his Children.

The Visual Stimuli – Subconscious indirect “Conditioning”. This plays a very important part in the thought and logic of any person and impacts profoundly on the way they behave. If your parents smoke, it highly like that you will become a smoker. They will never advise you to smoke, but you witness your parents smoking and socialising and subconsciously absorb their ways so as you experiment, gradually become a regular. Visual stimuli will subconsciously attract you to advertising propaganda – hence, the advertising of smoking is banned in Formula 1 Motor Racing internationally and on TV etc, and all shops. This means that these companies have invested billions in advertising to promote their cigarettes because “classical conditioning” works and the government knows it so they have banned it. The same applies to gays, if two men are kissing or in the same bed, the child would be unfairly conditioned to believing that is normal and more inclined.

And for those who refute my point, I refer them to professional psychological diagnosis of Pavlov’s “Classical Conditioning” where by if an an individual is exposed repeatedly to a stimuli – visual or verbal propaganda – he will eventually, automatically respond approvingly (or accordingly) without thought to that stimuli, i.e. he becomes CONDITIONED to that stimuli, in this case the stimuli being GAYs. As mentioned, it is used everyday in marketing and politics and the news media.

The same classical conditioning has been applied in REVERSE by the gays via media and television and now it the society at large accepts gays because WE ALL HAVE BEEN CONDITIONED.

Suffering: Collateral
A child would yearn with the natural instincts of the her mother or father. The child would love to have a natural brother or sister. That child would be bullied at school (plenty of evidence). Broken Home : It is researched and proven by various academic that GAYS have extreme bondage sex and have multiple casual partners in very short periods of time i.e. they move from partner to partner. AIDS : it is also proven that this deadly disease is rife among homosexuals and indeed this disease did originate in GAY men in the 1980s. They are a group with the highest STDs. So as you see, it is also very dangerous to a child’s health to have GAYS hanging around all day.

We must all agree that the children, often babies or very young toddlers, who cannot communicate, and therefore express their natural instincts for a Mother and Father, should be subject to the worldly natural and normal process of growing up with a Mother and Father. The rights of the child, The Human Rights of the Child must come before the rights of any adult, particularly adopting homosexuals.

And on that concise presentation I argue that GAY parenting needs to be reviewed in parliament.

Now folks, enlighten me…

Jere answers:

You could say the same thing for a Catholic family who tell their children gays are evil and that if you sin you will be ‘damned’ and go to a ‘fiery hell’ for ‘ever’. This can psychological harm children.

Im gay and both my parents are straight. To be honest you are born gay, it was never my choice and i doubt my parents could have changed this (ask any gay person this and they will you exactly the same thing). Therefore this is natural, in the wild most animals have exhibited gay relations. This is probably due to overpopulation, if for example, you have a gay uncle, he will not reproduce but still provide food or protection for the population.

Homosexuality in my opinion is 90% genetics and 10% nurture/environment. Harvey Milk, for example, grew up in a fervent and dominant heterosexual environment but turned out gay.

The point you should be trying to make is not ‘gays’ will nurture bad kids, its ‘BAD parents’ in general will harm children, albeit to gender, religion, education or sexual orientation.

Have you read of the NEW illegal immigration bill?

This one sounds pretty good so far.

http://www.alipac.us/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2287

WASHINGTON—In an attempt to derail the compromise immigration bill working its way through the Senate, a group of House Republicans unveiled an alternative measure Tuesday that takes a harder line against immigration that would block illegal immigrants from becoming citizens while directing the Bush administration to enforce current laws.

Called the Secure Borders FIRST Act, the new bill focuses on improving security at the border, stiffening sanctions for employers who hire illegal immigrants, and establishing a market-based temporary guest worker program, which would allow immigrants into the country on 10-month renewable visas. It also increases penalties for gang membership and identity theft, and establishes English as the official language of the United States.
Rabid Frog I’m always here for ya!

and you get a thumbs up AND A BEST ANSWER.

Jere answers:

Much better, I of course want to read the entire proposal. I like the emphasis on securing our borders as the first step because without secure borders we are throwing money away. Also the area that many seem to forget is the employers, they can control the flow over the border and the overstays… Thanks for the info

Helen asks…

Do Republicans have the notion that they’re defending the interests of billionaire oil tycoons, Koch Brothers?

interests which are in direct conflict with the interests of practically everyone in the United States, including their own offspring (not to mention the environment).

Do these people have the notion that all these public demonstrations are heavily funded by the Koch Brothers and that they are following corporate heavily funded astroturf marketing (like Americans for Prosperity, Fox News, and a myriad of countless other fraudulent organizations which have, as a single purpose to exert political influence).

Do these people have the notion that Koch Brothers fund all this Republican propaganda for their own gain?

Koch Brother’s agenda:

being against the health care bill (this is against the interests of anyone but it is for the interests of health insurance corporations).

Trying to discredit global warming, which is unanimously accepted by most of the worlds scientists (and these are not the snake oil republican scientists, these are real unbiased scientists of every country in the world. Again, for the interests of polluting corporations including many owned by the Koch Brothers.

trying to abolish crucial state organizations which can regulate Koch’s Corporate abuses like the FDA, the FBI, etc… (again, against the interest of the people, but for the interest of corporations)

trying to abolish public education. Once there’s no public education and every “knowledge institution” is private what kind of “knowledge” do you expect? You can expect the knowledge that is convenient to corporate interests and nothing else. And also inaccessible education for many. Generalized ignorance, people easily brainwashed with aggressive corporate propaganda (like Koch’s funded Fox News propaganda for example, and Koch’s illegitimate public pressure groups). Again, against the people’s interests, but all for corporate interests.

Wanting to abolish several other state organizations, basically trying to transform the US in a complete corporate- run banana republic.

Wanting to legalize drugs and prostitution (no comments)

Associating with cancer research (ONLY to stop certain cancerous chemicals from being deemed cancerous, such as formaldehyde) …

Wanting to abolish minimum wages (no comments)

Wanting to abolish many other state organizations which get in the way of corporate tycoons control of America.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koch_Industries

many other news and videos about these evil brothers on the internet and you can probably link them to every anti-democratic opposition and smear campaigns in recent history.
Some of these Koch funded organizations lecture people on how to go about the internet and giving negative ratings to information that conflicts with their interests…
Terrel, no answer to your non existing argument
got one of the links repeated. This was the intended second link:

“I’ve heard enough” it’s all over the internet, go to google and write: koch brothers legalizing prostitution and drugs

here’s one for you: http://www.domeontherange.net/2010/08/koch-wanted-to-abolish-social-security.html

Now your argument is that you could deny most of what I say but you didn’t deny one single thing. I was hoping your hands could get past one sentence without health issues.

Jere answers:

No, they don’t know that they are the puppets of billionaires who don’t care about them at all.

Paul asks…

One C in junior year algebra, colleges?

I’m a junior, and I’m probably going to get a C in Algebra 2.

I’ve never ever gotten a C before in my life, so it makes me SO sad. You have no idea. =( Last semester I had no C’s.

My other grades for this semester:

0 period : Teacher’s Assistant (A)
1st period: AP Spanish 4 (B, but weighted to an A)
2nd period: Algebra 2 (C)
3rd period: Wind Ensemble (A)
4th Period: World History (A)
5th Period: Anatomy and Physiology (A)
6th Period: Honors English (B….weighted to A)

Here is my explanation. So, I own this website, and I’m only 16. It’s the number one website about Twilight, the massively popular book series that is now being made into a movie. It gets over 20,000 unique visits per day, and I handle the advertising, news posting, and we are in direct contact with the company making the movie. Last year I got invited to the premiere of the film and got to interview the stars (http://www.youtube.com/hisgoldeneyesdotcom) and this year I got invited to the set of the film. It was an amazing experience. I got to watch the movie be filmed and talk to the director of the film (Chris Weitz) and the main actors there. This summer I am invited to a fundraiser with all the cast there and they are paying for my plane ticket, and I am going to two other Twilight conventions. The set visit caused me to miss a LOT of math, which I struggle in.

So now I have a C almost definetly. I took the final today and think I did awesome, but I need over a 100 percent on it to raise it to a B. (bonus questions)

I want to go to college and major in film/marketing, multimedia communications, advertising, or something that I’m already doing and enjoy!

Will be C kill my hopes and dreams? Ughh. =(

Jere answers:

NO! One C cannot kill you. A great SAT, ACT, and essay/interview will more than make up for it. One C in a sea of A’s may make your reviewer think a little, but i think including your film making experience in your essay/interview will more than make up for it. Plus, what does Math have to do with film? You kept up A’s in all your other classes.
