Your Questions About Doing Business Online Btec

Ruth asks…

How can I write my cover letter?

I am school leaver and I am finding it difficult to find a job.I am waiting on my National Insurance number which is yet to turn up any day as my birthday is on the 5th of August. I studied Maths, English, Btec Science, GCSE Science, Extended Project, Citizenship, History, Religious, Business, Music and ICT. Soon I will be starting Kingston College. I would like to apply for a cleaning job because I do not reach the age boundaries to do so (18).

So back to the point, I like in London and I cannot find a job. I’m doing research online and I’m really trying hard. So what do I put in my cover letter? How could I start it off? and How could I end it?

Jere answers:

For the content what I would do is say “I am writing in response to your advert (where you saw advert) for (job described on advert). I am interested in this position. My CV is enclosed. Please do not hesitiate to contact me if you need any further details. I look forward to hearing from you,”

For something like a cleaning job it is probably more important to respond swiftly rather than spend too much time dseliberating what to say.

Nancy asks…

What course should i continue on after my Level 3 IT Diploma? Few choices available?

I have recently just finished my BTEC Level 3 IT Practitioners, Graded at Triple Distinction.

I have decided to take one year out before proceeding onto University and work for the meantime.

I like to study so i will be enrolling onto a online level 4 course so i do not fall out of my study routine. I have a few choices but was wondering which one of the following would look better on the CV for computing jobs in the near future:

1. Advanced Psychology Level 4
2. Business Law Level 4
3. Caring for People with Learning Disabilities Level 4
4. Anatomy and Physiology Level 4
5. Criminal Psychology Level 4
6. Business Economics Level 4

They all seem very interesting and i wish i could do them all to honest.
Im thinking of doing one or maybe even two if i can juggle between work and make time.

Recommend me two and then which of the two i should go for if i am unable to do both.

Thank you for your help. Danny. 🙂

Jere answers:

2 & 6 are both need in the world today due to the economy crisis. This will improve your CV and maybe even allow you to have to different job options.

Jere answers:

I’m pretty sure people won’t look down on someone with no qualifications. I genuinely couldn’t care less what qualifications someone has….i like them for their personality. And I got an A in A level maths (I’m not trying to boast, I’m just trying to let you see that people with good qualifications don’t judge others if they don’t have A levels or whatever). Unless they’re a stuck up poop (in which case, it doesn’t matter whether they like/respect you). They can jog on lol. Anyway…you’ve got loadsa good qualifications! Chillax 🙂 You’ve nothing to stress about! It really doesn’t affect the way people like/respect you anyway. I think your brothers have given you a complex about qualifications/education. Maybe talk to your brothers about how their comments upset you and ask them to stop? It’s hard to admit that someone’s ‘light-hearted’ comments upset you, but if you actually tell them, they may actually realise that it’s affecting you negatively. Cos they probably don’t even realise and think they’re just acting like a brother is supposed to act. Hope I’ve helped and not rambled too much 🙂

Do people look down on me because I haven’t done A Levels and because I haven’t gone to University? Do people like and respect me less because of my education? Am I really that stupid?

I have self harmed myself before, and I have thought about killing myself as well.

Thank you in advance for all of the help and advice, I am very grateful.

Jere answers:

It is really a tough situation to handle. Let me go through it leisurely when my mind remains refreshed and recharged. I have to study, examine and analyze various things from different angles. I may also have to consult my mentor and few wise friends. These exercises may take time. Kindly bear with me, if there is any delay.

Jere answers:

Of course not! No qualification is worthless! The worth is in the work it took for you to achieve them and the new skills you acquired. If anybody does think that, they’re an idiot. (And you certainly write and punctuate a good deal better than a lot of people on here who have, or claim to have, highly advanced degrees from international universities…)
