Your Questions About Doing Business Online World

David asks…

What country is best for expanding globally considering their political economy & international trade?

I have to write a CPA (country portfolio analysis) report on the country of my choice from Europe, Asia, Africa or South America. I have to explore the possibility of doing business in another country. I don’t want anyone to write the report for me i just want to get off on the right start but please some reasons why you chose the country you did. (the business is a clothing store)

Jere answers:

South Africa,

for the following reasons:

-Corporate tax rates recently cut to 28% by Finance minister,
-Growing middle class, and robust consumer spending
-Relative dollar cost to run the business would much lower than in Europe though possibly not as low as Asia.
-Although listed as an emerging market – increasing the perception of risk attached to investing – South Africa’s growth is comparable to Australia in the last 3 yrs
-Burgeoning international fashion destination particularly out of the coastal city of Cape Town which undoubtedly the design & art capital of South Africa (not to mention the world-class wine farms & beaches)

Lisa asks…

How to start off my business?

I’m planning to make a fashion business online, but i don’t know where to start!!! I’m planning to start off selling some jewelery and move on up. But i need some advice because I’m new to the business world

Jere answers:

Hi there,

I am 100% with you in this where to start from, I come from Science background and had been thinking of doing something a bit different for a while, so the way I started is- I started going to some of these free business related events in the area, free business accounting classes, how to sell and market and how to negotiate etc. – started to talk to people and discussing various ideas, so basically researched a lot and kept everything in writing in a notepad-

Eventually I wanted to try it out so I started an online store- not so long ago. Its not so costly and as I am new in this venture I was not willing to go into something that costs me arms and legs but learn as I go. I guess some would say its not the way- the way I see it is take it easy and learn without losing out a lot of money. If you are new I will not advice you to give up on your job yet- take your time and do a lot of research and talk to people – if you are in London the British Library have a free business advice so go there and talk your ideas to them. I hope if helps, If you think it will help- visit my site on www.vDukan.com for ideas. Thanks

Donald asks…

What are reputatable online sites that I can use to work at home?

I am a mother of three children, and I love it, but I would like to make some money from home. I do not want to babysit, or do a business such as mary kay. I just need to know some good web sites that dont want $300 to start a “homebased business” that I can earn some money with. Please help!

Jere answers:

None of the links that are given to you will give you want you want. What you want does not exist but only exists in the scammer world, for they created the idea of ” work from home and make money ” with us.

If this “thought” was true, ask yourself something simple…. Why then do billions go to college, buy suits, sit in rush hour all to get to a job?

At home, online jobs consist of web designer, art graphic person, typer, paper pusher for say insurance company, online store or ebay selling, etc.

There is no company that pays you to click sites, read emails, or anything of the such. They are all scams or pyramid scams that take your money or sell your personal info for money.

Jenny asks…

What are some good accredited online universities?

I have recently completed my bachelors degree in management and i am looking to do my masters online (Business administration, marketing or project management). However i want to do something that is noted worldwide. any suggestions?

Jere answers:

In addition to what others have mentioned, Penn State has a fairly extensive online “World Campus” program and is well-regarded in the States: http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu/iMBA.shtml

And the Open University in the UK is pretty much the grandaddy of online education: http://www.open.ac.uk/oubs/programmes/index.php

Jere answers:

Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind…what’s your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?

By researching the prospect of starting your own business — what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc — you’ll feel better prepared to take that plunge.
