How to read my email marketing statistics the right way?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a way to read my email marketing statistics correctly and see how it can do to an email marketing campaign?

Jere answers:

If you are using an auto-responder like aweber or constant contact, you can log into your account and see the open rates for html sent emails. (does not work for text messages). That gives you some information, but the better strategy is to create more than one version of each email you send and test them against each other to see which one gets more opens.

The key element will be the SUBJECT of the email, and that is what you want to test.

I use Aweber and they will give you a lot feedback on how likely you email is to be delivered, as well as the actual delivery results. In fact they guide you through the process extensively. This does not work as a solution if you are trying to a mass mailing to people who have not opt-ed into your list. In fact, that is probably a real waste of time and resources.

The best way to make a mailing, if you do not have a list, is to contact newsletter owners (writing about your niche) and pay for them to drop an email(s) for you to their list. Just check out their readership counts to make sure you are getting what you pay for.

Good luck!

How to get email addresses for marketing my business?

Hi,
I am looking into doing some email marketing for my business. My list of emails is relatively small at the moment and these are made up of existing customers and enquires etc. I have tried searching at Google, sorry Yahoo and going through website after website to get emails but it is taking ages.
My web designer gave me some software to help but it is so complicated that I am still no further on.
Please any help in this area would be great.
Many thanks
Sharon

Jere answers:

Hi Sharon
I am not totally surprised by what you are saying about that email harvesting software your web guy gave you, there are lots out that are way to complicated and just don’t work.
The software I use lets you do a complete search and save plus use the data completely free, so worries about wasting money on duff software.
When you first install the software it pops up a wizard that guides you through the process but it is really just typing in one box, so not rocket science.
If you are looking for thousands of email addresses then you can import a merge list which will increase the number of searches done.
Try it and I will be shocked if it doesn’t work you.

What are necessary steps for an effective email marketing?

I want an effective email marketing. Please answer the following points: How can i increase the my subscribers? how can i effectively use it to produce the leads? What are good email providers?

Jere answers:

An e-mail must have a good reason for being sent; otherwise it’s better to not send it. The hook of an e-mail is the single thought or message conveyed by that e-mail and should be stated in the first sentence or two of the e-mail.

Donald asks…

What are good traits in an email marketing person?

Thinking about hiring an email marketing person. What should I look for in a candidate?

Jere answers:

Test their spelling abilities with a simple quiz. They should be good at spelling so they dont make you look bad and it will reflect you since you hired them.Im sure your time is valuable to you so they should be able to type at a reasoable rate.40-60 WPM is good. They should also know how to talk professionally, even if it is email.
