You want a print-on-demand service, not a publisher. The main ones are lulu.com and createspace.com. There isn’t much to choose between them – Lulu is a bit easier to use, but CreateSpace is a bit cheaper.

You decide what paper size and binding type you want, then download an appropriate template from the site. You copy your book into this template and adjust the formatting as necessary. For the cover, you can supply your own, or bribe another friend to do one for you, or both sites have wizards you can use. Make sure you don’t select any of the extra services, such as editing or marketing support, as those are quite expensive. Order and pay for one copy. (Lulu used to have a deal where they’d give you one free copy of the first book you uploaded to them. I didn’t know this, and ended up ordering two copies when I wanted only one. So check your email for a voucher code before you order your book.)

Unless your book is the size of a dictionary or needs colour printing for the interior, one copy should cost you less than $10 (plus shipping).

Blogger is unique in that it is owned by Google, so they offer settings to make it easier, to not only get each post indexed, but to communicate with other blogging communities.

These are the most vital settings for your blog.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you click “save settings” after each change you make, and after all is done, don’t forget to republish your blog!

Blogger presents a variety of settings for your blog, available under Settings tab, which makes your Blogger more search friendly, besides just entering the URL into Google search

Basic Description

Be sure to fill this one out properly. The description shows on most of your posts and your homepage (depending on the template), and it is also used in various places like search engines and blog directories. Try to write a brief summary of the main theme or focus of your blog here. Also try to use some keywords.

Add your blog to our listings?

This should certainly be “yes”, unless you’re starting a private blog.

Show email post links?

This puts up a link on all your post that enables readers to send that post to their friends by email. This should also be “yes”, it is a nice feature, and also triggers free “word-of-mouth” marketing.

Publishing
Notify weblogs.com

This feature allows automatically pinging weblogs.com every time you post a new article. It is very useful, and helps improve the recognition of your blog. So do turn it to “yes”.

Archiving
Enable post pages?

Make sure that this is also “yes”. This way, every single post you make has it’s own URL, and can be easily linked to. It also helps with the search engines.

Site Feed
Publish Site Feed?

Again, “yes”. This enables the atom feed subscription service to your blog. Readers who subscribe, receive notification each time you make a new post, and can also choose to read your blog through popular feed reader software.

Just copy the URL of your blog’s atom feed, and paste it into the template in the sidebar section.

Blogger only provides atom feed, but it is also a good idea to include an RSS feed as well, which is a “plug-in” available in the “add gadgets” tab.
