Your Questions About Email Marketing Templates

Mary asks…

How to embed a file in email?

I’m trying to embed a newsletter in the body of an email instead of attaching it. The file is a combination of text and images done in Microsoft Publisher. Forums online say just copy and paste. When I copy and paste, everything ends up distorted with huge text and no images. I’ve tried saving the file as pdf and png, but when I select the image and copy, there’s no option to paste when I right click in the email. I’ve to do this in my employer’s aol account and in my gmail.

I can’t figure it out! I’m reasonably proficient on the net, but I’m not an expert, so I would really appreciate any step-by-step advice. Thanks!!

Use aweber email marketing for this.

You get 100s of templates + can use your own. Costing $1 for 1 st & then $ 19 per month, but much more worth it

Daniel asks…

Free email marketing accounts for bulk mail?

I would like to send email newsletters to my newsletter subscribers
I have an opt-in list, how do I get started?

Jere answers:

If you already have a list of subscribers the best thing to do is signup to a hosted email service such as Aweber (http://customemail.aweber.com/) and import the list into it.

I recommended Aweber to all my clients as it is easy to use, has built in templates and will give you stats on who click what links + way more. It is a very comprehensive service that grows as you do. Another thing is that it will automatically manage your unsubscribe list and you can create forms and put them on your website to automatically add users to your list. Honestly I could talk all-day about how good it is. The best thing to to is signup and give it a try, if its not you cancel and try something else. Just get out there and start playing with it.

Hope this Helps

Carol asks…

What type of professional business letter should I use in this situation, and where can I get a free template?

First, understand I am not a business major. I am in the process of becoming more business savy as I begin business endeavors and take classes.

There is a “dot com” domain name that is already registered and in use, but it is one of those useless sites that has a background picture of a beach with useless links and fake information. I got a WhoIs listing on their corporate office, and I would like to see if they would be willing to sell the domain name to me, and what they would want for it. How do I go about this? What type of professional business letter would I use, and where can I find a template for it, instead of having to fudge my way through it?

Jere answers:

That’s probably something that would be better started with a phone call. I don’t know that there are templates of letters like this… I don’t think it’s common enough yet.

You would want to call and ask for the marketing manager, and leave a voice mail stating that you want to discuss the domian and url of the web site. Don’t say what you want to discuss in detail – like the actual purchase, but if you just leave your name and number you won’t get a call back.

After discussing it with them on the phone, you will likely exchange contact information including email addresses. If they’re using the domain for their corporate email, then the likelyhood of them selling the domain is very slight. If they’re not, then you need to figure out what’s in it for them to sell it. It likely won’t be profitable for them unless you’re willing to pay a lot for the site.

The emails can be informal until the actual sale comes about. One of you will need to draft a contract of sale – it’s better if it comes from you, but either way you’ll want legal advice before entering into the agreement.

Good luck!

I need to create an image of a retail-style box to help market my e-book. How do i do this?

I will soon be selling E-books and i have seen several on Ebay where the sellers have managed to create graphic so that it looks like the E-book comes in a retail-style box.
Are there any suggestions abput how i might go about getting this image (which will have to be chagnmed for each different E-book i have) or whether there’s any particular graphics programme & template i can use to make it?

Jere answers:

Instead of the mega expensive PhotoShop (in UK), get PaintShop Pro .. A fraction of the price for about 95% of the functions you are ever likely to use ..

PS Those FAKE ‘books’ REALLY wind me up .. I totally HATE it when scam artists on eBay try to pretend that you will receive a real paper bound book when in fact all they are offering is a PDF email attachment (which may or may not be riddled with viruses)
