Anyone got experience dealing with marketing job scams?

I applied for a job and got call back straight away the next day asking me to come for an interview, the job seemed to be too good to be true.

Clearly it is as after doing further research and speaking to a few people I’ve learnt it’s basically an over glamorised door to door job, on commision. If you google “pure solutions direct scam” you will see what I mean. I’ve heard lots of stories and I think I’ve got off luckier than some by cancelling my interview. May 10] British Sky Broadcasting (Sky) said Wednesday it had agreed to buy Sports Internet Group plc in an all-share deal that values the company at over £300 million ($460 million).
Shareholding directors of Sports Internet have given irrevocable undertakings to accept Sky’s offer, ensuring that Sky can acquire at least 51.5 per cent of the share capital, giving it control of the company.

With the acquisition comes an experienced management team who are expected to take Sky’s sports channel Skysports.com through the next stages of its development.

Sky also announced its latest set of figures Wednesday, showing a steep drop in operating profit for the nine-month period to end March, down to £51 million ($78 million) from £153 million ($234 million) for the same period last year. ive just started an ebay shop and am trying to get the email marketing feature working. The welcome to my newsletter one in particular. im trying to set it so that when someone signs up to my newsletter they automatically get an email saying welcome etc. so i went in to the email marketing create new email select the mailing list and the welcome template. it says its in the pending and the sent list but one hasnt been sent its just a dotted line. I also signed up to it myself but didnt get one however i wrote a “normal” newsletter and got that email ok. does it take a while or something to get the automatic ones?

I have built a couple of connections in China and the person I know owns a factory in suburban Beijing. The factory manufactures backpacks, hand bags, and other accessories. I live in the U.S. and want to start my own home business online.

My understanding is that it is a major advantage to be able to offer customized products specified by my client, namely, customer provides the design so that the factory can manufacture accordingly. They, of course, make pre-designed products as well. My role is basically a business agent or representative in the U.S. and make money by selling those products. Another major advantage of this business idea lies in my direct connection with the manufacturer therefore I can get factory price without middleman (well I am the middleman).

Now my question is: how do I put this idea online? In other words, is there an Internet website that allows me to build online stores and sell my products? eBay and Amazon pop into my head in the first place but most of these online sellers are B2C. Although I do not mind at all to start it this way but my objective is to do business with suppliers or manufacturers in the U.S. (or other countries). I did a little research on alibaba.com, a Chinese B2B website and would like to know if there is such a web service in the U.S.?

Best country/language for doing business in the future?

Everyone now is saying “China, China, China, China, China!” But researching online has given me other results. According to the Ease of Doing Business Index, China has a rather low ranking! And other sites also suggest that places like Singapore and Hong Kong are the best. It’s weird because if you go to any site that has people put in their viewpoints (like Yahoo answers, forums, etc) the majority say China is the best! So I’m just wondering: Why does everyone say China is good for business? Is it actually? By the way, I’m half Chinese and half American and know Chinese pretty fluently. It would be AWESOME to do business between foreign countries (especially China: also, it’s so fun there! So much to do! Especially in my Chinese mom’s native town of Shanghai!!). I mean if I did business I would do it in China anyway because I speak the language well, but I’m just wondering about how good it would be to to business there. A side note: I’m learning French (school) and like it a lot; I will be continuing it throughout college and will hopefully be pretty fluent eventually. I’m also learning Japanese because, well, I just like it! Lol. As a result, U.S, China, France, and Japan are my favorite countries 🙂 I’ve been to all of them and soooooo cool! EDIT: By “best for doing business” I mean including ALL factors; how easy is it to do business there (rules, taxes, whatever I’m not too knowledgeable on this but I will do more research), how much money you would likely make, etc. Also, if you did business in China, what kind of things/products would usually be good for doing business with? Thieves ripped two full-size blue mail-collection boxes out of the concrete in Hemet and Menifee this month and stole all the mail inside, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service says.

The agency is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or conviction, Postal Inspector Renee Focht said. It is also accepting complaints from anyone who believes their mail was stolen.

The first collection box was taken April 5 from the Village West Shopping Center at Florida and Sanderson avenues in Hemet. It was taken sometime between the last pick-up at 5:15 p.m. and when it was reported missing at 3 p.m. the next day, according to a news release.

The empty, damaged mailbox was found two days later on Green Avenue, south of Highway 74 near Homeland.

A second mailbox was stolen between 1:15 p.m. April 14 and 11:30 a.m. April 15 from the corner of Sunnywood and Sandwood streets in the Sun City area of Menifee.

Postal officials do not know if the motive was related to the income tax deadline. Most mail theft targets checks, gift cards or cash, Focht said. People are discouraged from mailing cash.

Anyone who may have information about the theft is asked to call postal inspectors at 1-877-876-2455, option 2, and refer to Case No. 1849381.

Why can’t record companies see that their business model is flawed and fading?

Very recently Madonna and RadioHead who are now free from their contracts turned the music distribution tables on their heads when Madonna announced she had signed a contract with a promoter, not a record company and RadioHead is making its music avaiable on the internet for as little as 2 cents per song.

It’s like…Duh, we don’t need record companies any more. I knew this a long time ago.

I want to set the record straight with the wrestling section?

Its not the WWE itself that makes me hate the company (though i’m not a big fan of the product and I think they could do much better) its the FANS that make me hate it. I know that sounds kind of dumb, but I simply cannot tolerate the way the WWE fans act. MOST of them act like fanboys/fangirls and act like cult followers to a cult. Bashing TNA and its product for simply no reason other than its in the same business and had the sack to call WWE out. Its not just this section either, its all over the internet. Try going to the TNA facebook page sometime, its INFESTED with WWE fanboys bashing the holy hell out of the company. Why not stick to the WWE facebook page? whats the point of mindless bashing? what does it solve? Does it make WWE or TNA any better? does it make the fans lives better? the answer is NO to all the above. My point is, if your a “company fan”, than that’s fine, but you don’t have to sit there and relentlessly bash what I love just b/c you don’t share the same view. Its petty and immature. And yes, SOME TNA fans ARE guilty of bashing too. But when all we here is “TNA sucks” and “TNA is gonna die” and “TNA is nothing but WWE rejects” and stupid crap of that sort, what are we suppose to do? just sit there and take it? if all you WWE fans heard was how much WWE sucks on a constant basis, especially on monday and friday nights (I say that b/c Thursday nights WWE fans come out in droves just to bash TNA) wouldn’t you get tired of it?

Bottomline: People seem to really have lost their sense of respect for one another, and the internet hasn’t helped much. As a matter of fact, I DID want to be a wrestling promoter in the indies, that was my DREAM. But after experiencing the IWC and seeing how jaded the fans really are and how they nitpick everything, why in the hell would I even want to be a promoter? IMO, the internet truly has killed wrestling. Not the fall of WCW, not Vince McMahon, the internet. The element of suprise is gone from it and the fans all of a sudden feel like they are “experts” on the wrestling business. You know what a big part of wrestling being successful in the 90’s was? the fans didn’t nitpick every little thing and appreciated what was put out, and the element of suprise was still there b/c spoiler sites didnt ruin it. It wasn’t just innovative storylines and concepts like people claim.

What do you think about studying online with a University?

I have been to a traditional college for about 2 years and got my Associates in Business Administration there. I moved far away overseas and decided to study with a popular US University Online, because it offered me the flexibility and the luxury of holding a BA in Marketing in a bit longer than 2 years with transfered credits. Seriously, though, if you are an employer or student, professor – what is your opinion on this and why? The school says that it is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (ncahlc.org). Most of the business degrees are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. My classes are super duper expensive, I do learn a great deal of theory, but have nearly no experience in my desired field of study. They focus on writing weekly papers, simulations, and team work. Internet or online communication. I am currently seeking an internship. But, what is your opinion and why? I am also trying to figure out if I should complete a Master’s with this University as well.

How is the Tax prep for “Online Business“?

If you are an online business, how are you supposed to charge tax when you give a buyer a % discount?

I really wrangled my way into the line for grad. Naturally I never got a diploma for my empty folder. But, my whole family thought I had graduated.

I have worked as a freelance writer, holding myself out as having a degree in English. I got 2 books published 4 and 8 years ago, I have published articles, blogs and business and grant proposals. I have done mission trips and ministry work with my writing, and am up for a major journalism fellowship (I did not pretend to have a degree on that application). Lately, I have felt very guilty about pretending to have a degree when I don’t.

Due to serious illness in our family, the construction and publishing markets (my husband’s and my work) and a variety of other factors I’m not going to detail here, our family is on welfare right now. As a bit of background, I have not been offered a full time job in five years in spite of my best efforts. I get part time jobs easily and freelance writing jobs easily — they just don’t pay enough for us to pay our bills. My husband (who remodels houses but doesn’t charge near enough to support us) and I have to cooperate with the job placement plan in order to keep getting welfare. It’s not that the few hundred dollars is such a big deal, but under the program, and since I don’t have outstanding student loans, I can go back to school and finish my degree with distance learning through a university about 40 miles from here. I can take online classes or some classes at a center in my town. It will actually take about 2 years because I have to earn 45 hours at this new school to graduate from it. This program offers adult learners courses at the upper undergrad levels and counts whatever coursework you’ve done to meet the core education requirements. You have to have completed 60 hours to get in and I’ve completed 98.

Here are possible majors available to me:

1. English. Pro: it was already my major and I have a lot of work done in it. Con: I don’t see how it will get me farther than I am now. I’m already a published author and journalist and not making enough money at it. I can already get hired for writing jobs based on my talent — not to brag, it’s just a fact.

2. Psychology — Pro: I like people and helping others. Con: I have absolutely no hours in psychology right now and would have to start with Psych 101. Like all of these, I have the educational core done, but would have to take a bunch of psych and other social science courses.

3. Business administration. I do have nonprofit experience but my lack of degree has kept me from ever getting a job with it. I have no interest in business courses, I’m bad at math, possibly too chaotic for accounting, but I would make more money I think.

4. Teaching certification — I would go for secondary English. Pro: very easy for me to finish up and possibly steady work that I’d enjoy. Con: Our local school district cut a bunch of teachers this year and I don’t want to uproot the kids. I quit the teaching unit when I was at uni before because I didn’t think I would be the best teacher.

5. organizational management — like bus admin but less accounting and other drudgery. Might help me grow my writing business or get a job with a cool organization.

Kitchen remodelling? How to choose a kitchen fitters?

I’m hoping to get my very, very old and unsafe kitchen redone. The units, frame, worktops etc are beyond repair and despair.
I cannot spend a fortune on it, I have had a quote for about a grand over my budget not including all appliances from B&Q for the cheapest units/doors they can do (their fitting cost is double that of the kitchen)
I have had a quote from a local company (I have seen their showroom/business near where I live for over 10 years) for about £500 under my budget, including all the appliances I will need, in the style I originally wanted but couldn’t afford at B&Q.
Do I go for a large well known company with fairly bad reviews on the fitting or a local company, that’s quite a bit cheaper but have no reviews online anywhere?
What sort of questions should I ask or research should I do to avoid being ‘scammed’ by a dodgy company (B&Q or the local one)
Its our first time to do this frankly disgusting kitchen (mould, burnt, falling apart, peeling layers of paint on worktops, the whole thing is over 25 years old and not safe for us or our kids) I don’t want to spend forever deciding, the work needs to be done within 6-8 weeks.

Wisconsin mother is furious that her tax dollars helped buy a middle-school textbook that includes a passage from Barack Obama’s speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention — but has no mention of John McCain.

The woman, who spoke to FOXNews.com on the condition of anonymity because she feared business reprisals, became upset after her 13-year-old son told her his advanced English class in Racine, Wis., had read about Barack Obama in a textbook, “McDougal Littell Literature, Grade 8.”

The textbook, published by an arm of Houghton Mifflin Company, focuses on a portion of Obama’s 1995 autobiography, “Dreams From My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance,” in which Obama writes about a month-long visit by his Kenyan father when he was 10 and living in Hawaii.

The 20-page section, which kicks off with a student discussion of “What Makes You Proud?” ends with a portion of Obama’s speech, “Out of Many, One,” at the 2004 Democratic Convention in Boston, and a photo of him there, surrounded by Obama placards.

Obama was running for Senate in Illinois in 2004.

“The kicker was the photo towards the end with Obama and at least eight visible Obama signs, and the one with the Web site on it,” she said. “Obviously, it was the 2004 Web site, but you can still go right to it, and I think that to me was just over the top. It didn’t need to be in there.”

The mother said any mention of Obama should have included passages from other politicians, such as McCain.

“McCain is a prisoner of war — that’s a story in itself,” she said. “Or Dick Cheney’s wife has written children’s stories. Was that in any of their books?”

But she said she’d prefer not to see any politicians in the English text.

“As a taxpayer, we’re paying for these books, and there should not be a story about Obama in this book right now and there should not be a story about McCain in this book,” she said.

Obama’s passage appears in the textbook along with noted authors and thinkers, including Maya Angelou, Isaac Asimov and Emily Dickinson, according to ClassZone.com, which is the online educational supplement to the book.

A representative from the Racine Unified School District said no parent has complained to officials about the text, which is used by students in the district’s eight middle schools. The district has 21,000 students.

“The Racine Unified School District DOES NOT endorse any candidate or political party,” the school said in a written statement. “The choice of this selection was to provide a contemporary and multicultural figure to explore the unit on community.”

Six teachers and three district staff members chose the textbook, district spokeswoman Stephanie Hayden said.

“The Racine Unified School District is a multicultural school district with 49 percent of our student body comprising students of color,” the school said. “Identifying materials that reflect our student population is a priority.

“The selection in question is part of a larger unit centered around the question, ‘If the people within a community accept each others’ difference, how do individuals and their community benefit and prosper?'” the statement continued. “The selections, ‘Dreams of My Father’ and ‘Out of Many, One,’ fit into the curriculum by requiring students to engage in the central question around these and other selections.”

The mother, who says she’s an independent, contacted the blog “Real Debate Wisconsin” to tell it about the textbook, rather than approach teachers, because she said she didn’t want to jeopardize her son’s grades.

She said she was also angered by Obama’s biography in the textbook that included a passage entitled “A Life of Service,” which said Obama “was offered jobs working for an important judge and in high-powered law firms, but instead he chose to return to Chicago to practice civil-rights law.”

“They had to go into all the details about his ‘life of service’ and how he could have taken a higher paying job … It just doesn’t feel right to me. It’s very political,” the woman said.

Her son, she said, doesn’t understand her concern.

“It worries me that, you know, he’s in eighth grade and already he’s thinking that Obama is just going to win because everybody likes him,” she said. “Why in a school does everybody like him? I’ve got to believe there are kids who like McCain too.”

A spokesman for Houghton Mifflin said Obama’s passage appeared in its national edition of the 2008 textbook, but that the decision to include his writings occurred in 2005, before the Illinois politician decided to run for president.

This is the first scam that we have seen that tries to live off the name of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

The China National Oil Corporation is currently a hot stock market pick and owns a certain portion of valuable crude oil worldwide. By utilizing this known company to promote a “free” trip to the Olympics the scammer is looking to receive a lot of interest on this offer. And what does the spammer hope to receive in return? Valuable personal information. Here is a sample of one of the spam emails:

The fact that the company this scam is purportedly coming from is a hot stock market pick right now combined with winning money and a free trip to the Olympics is bound to incite interest amongst recipients. This is a classic example of enticement. Scammers that pretend to come from a well known source immediately ease the recipient’s doubts using the “known” factor. Then, they offer up free goods. In this case, the free goods consist not only of money but also coveted Olympics tickets.

As always, be cautious of opening and/or responding to unsolicited email. Before you open any email, be certain that you are expecting the email or at least have a good idea of what it is about, you know the sender, and that the sender’s email address is familiar. The unfortunate part of this classic type of ruse is that in many cases, the old adage applies: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I went for an interview and they completely treated me like **** and lied. They said I would be on a wage but when I was successful they didnt tell me it was a commision based job the other candidates told me. They tried made us start at 8am in the morning and didnt let us leave until midnight they were always trying to make me ferry people around in my car. The worst thing is we only had 3 hours to try selling and the rest of the time we had to fanny around in the office for free or travel aro8nd train to bus to train and not paying for travel. They completely lie to the donators!

The job was door to door sales and to make people donate £1.50 by direct debit. We were told to say that 100% of the £1.50 the person donates will go straight to the charity whereas in fact, every penny goes to the hands of Endeva and they split the amount raised. Reps and these marketing companies are paid out of the money people pay and they choose how much goes to the charity. The reps travel throughout the UK but as far as I know eclipse and endeva travel across east midlands to leicester, sleaford, nottingham, chesterfield etc. Dont pay donate through these people, donate online so then youre getting the most out of your money to the charity. The charities they represent include NDCS, British Red cross, WWF, RSPB and more charities. And do NOT work for these people they will disrespect you, make you give up relationship’s unless he/she also works for the company, make you cancel hospital appointments pre arranged, and if you wont let them use your own car, they will say “your car is knackered anyway” and will try to bully you into using it to ferry around the people who dont have cars. Someone on the web who also used to work for endeva said he was stripped of every sale he made just because he quit! These companies save so much money by not paying staff travel expenses, and not paying for labour. Unless you want all the disadvantages of being self employed with all the disadvantages of employment (stupid hours made by the company MONDAY – SATURDAY 80+ HOURS PER WEEK and commission only based pay during what little time you spend selling) STAY AWAY!

I only lasted 3 days. I gave it a shot and I left at the right time. The manager tried to make me cancel arrangements for a day at the scam.

Suggestions for structuring compensation plans for a start-up company?

Hi – I’m starting up a B2B service business that essentially will offer externally-based focus group facilitation to companies’ new product development teams. I’d appreciate any advice or online resources I should check out in regards to structuring compensation for two key employees.

The first employee will be a sales manager, who will do initial sales, and then build and manage a sales team. Should his comp. be commission, and if so, what’s an appropriate rate? (focus group sessions will have a price of approx. $80k per session, and we can expect to sell 3-5 every month).

Secondly, I have a co-founder who, after May, will only spend 5 or so hours per week on the business. I’m investing all the capital up front, and will be running the business the business full time, but he has a major role in getting the business started. U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration will seek to aggressively enforce its intellectual property laws by putting pressure on countries that don’t shut down piracy Web sites and by requiring all government contractors to check for illegal software, the White House announced.

The White House Office of the U.S. Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator, in a 65-page report released Tuesday, said the U.S. government will also step up its efforts to identify foreign Web sites trafficking in pirated goods and will create a database of intellectual property investigations to be shared among law enforcement agencies. The U.S. government will also seek to protect U.S. intellectual property (IP) through trade agreements, including the controversial Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, the report said. Several digital rights groups have complained that officials from the U.S. and other countries have drafted ACTA in secret.

“I say to those that are suffering from infringement, ‘Help is on the way,'” said Victoria Espinel, the White House intellectual property enforcement coordinator. “We understand the problems that you face, and we will work to make things better.”

Copyright pirates and counterfeiters should beware, Espinel added during a news conference. “To those who have, for too long, abused the rights of American creators, I have a warning for you,” she said. “We are committed to putting you out of business.”

Vice President Joe Biden compared IP infringement to a theft where a burglar breaks the window of a store and steals the products inside. “Piracy is theft, clean and simple,” he said. “It’s smash and grab.”
Counterfeit medications and vehicle parts are dangerous and need to be kept out of the U.S., Biden added. “We just want to make it real clear,” he said. “We’re going after people, we’re going after the Web sites, we’re going to go after those folks … who sell us things that in fact have the effect of putting the lives of Americans in jeopardy.”

If other governments fail to shut down Web sites that U.S. officials have identified as dealing in pirated goods, the White House will be vocal, Biden said. “We’re going to be as public as we possibly can” about other governments that do not cooperate, he said.

The U.S. government will also provide training to local and state law enforcement officials on IP enforcement, and it will provide seminars and training programs for foreign governments,
according to the new report. The report recommends new requirements that medical products contain electronic tags to make it more difficult for counterfeit products to be sold.

The report, called the Joint Strategic Plan on Intellectual Property Enforcement, also encouraged Web content owners, Internet service providers, advertisers and other online businesses to work together to reduce copyright violations.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Justice launched an IP enforcement task force, and in April, the agency announced 15 new assistant U.S. attorney positions and 20 new Federal Bureau of Investigation agents to be focused on domestic and international IP crimes.

I’m looking to travel to Thailand and perhaps stay for a bit (minimum 1 month). A lot of the free classifieds places to post, put my ad on the last page of their site, because it’s not a premium (paid) ad. My allergies, and asthma are undercontrol now that the toxic cleaning products, and bath/shower products are out of my home. Sence i have had such excellent results with the products that i purchase, i decided to make this my business. It is a consumer direct company, meaning that there is no inventory to buy and sell, no collecting money, no paperwork at the end of the month………none of the headache of a home business….i just need help to find the best places to market my business. How can I write my cover letter?

I am school leaver and I am finding it difficult to find a job.I am waiting on my National Insurance number which is yet to turn up any day as my birthday is on the 5th of August. I studied Maths, English, Btec Science, GCSE Science, Extended Project, Citizenship, History, Religious, Business, Music and ICT. Soon I will be starting Kingston College. I would like to apply for a cleaning job because I do not reach the age boundaries to do so (18).

So back to the point, I like in London and I cannot find a job. I’m doing research online and I’m really trying hard. So what do I put in my cover letter? How could I start it off? and How could I end it?

What course should i continue on after my Level 3 IT Diploma? Few choices available?

I have recently just finished my BTEC Level 3 IT Practitioners, Graded at Triple Distinction.

I have decided to take one year out before proceeding onto University and work for the meantime.

I like to study so i will be enrolling onto a online level 4 course so i do not fall out of my study routine. I have a few choices but was wondering which one of the following would look better on the CV for computing jobs in the near future:

1. Advanced Psychology Level 4
2. Business Law Level 4
3. Caring for People with Learning Disabilities Level 4
4. Anatomy and Physiology Level 4
5. Criminal Psychology Level 4
6. Business Economics Level 4

They all seem very interesting and i wish i could do them all to honest.
Im thinking of doing one or maybe even two if i can juggle between work and make time.

Recommend me two and then which of the two i should go for if i am unable to do both.

Is there some type of scam with those “entry level marketing” jobs posted on sites like career builder?

Almost any time I’ve applied for one they send me an email saying they reviewed my resume and think I’m an excellent candidate. They then give info to call them and set up an interview. I went to one of the so called interviews and all they do is tell some vague info about the job saying they’re a marketing firm that promotes businesses and ‘they’re looking for outgoing people, are you interested? The guy that interviewed me didn’t ask me any questions other than that.

He then told me that this was just a meet and greet and that they’ll be calling the top candidates back in a few days. (How can you decide who your top candidates are if you don’t even ask them any questions or give them any info about the job??? Of course, I never heard back from them.) He then said “it’s easier for us to SHOW you what you’d be doing than to explain.”

The whole “interview” probably lasted no more than about 3 minutes. Another girl went in right before me and her’s was exactly the same, in fact I could hear him talking to her and he told her the exact same things.

Another company claiming to be a marketing and promotions company for cosmetics called me and they wanted me to come to an interview (which I decided to not even go to). When I asked the lady that called me what type of work I would be doing she just said “marketing” as if it was a big secret. What’s with these companies?? Are they just trying to get applicants in their office to get their personal info or what??

My husband said one of the places called him too and that when he asked for a description of the job duties they also just told him “you’ll be doing marketing for companies”. So he said he decided not to go forward with an interview because he wasn’t going to waste his time going if they’re acting like what they do is a big secret. What’s the deal??

Why are people saying that Vector Marketing is a scam ?

Vector is not a scam. They are a reputable company and are part of the Direct Selling Association, which has a strict code of ethics for business practices. I worked for Vector for 2 years during college and enjoyed working there. I was able to make my own schedule and made good money for the hours I worked. What can Jobseekers and Employment Agencies do to avoid being FOOL by COMPANIES?

When COMPANIES advertise for job openings the salary budget is “Negotiable”. Then they get the employment agencies to help them to source for the same openings but setting different salary budgets for different employment agencies to work on.

Currently employment agencies “Do Not Disclose Companies Name” to jobseekers they represent. Consequently the same jobseeker may be sending to the same “Company” directly or through different employment agencies with different salary budgets.

1) Now if you are the Company receiving the same CVs from the same jobseeker with different salary budget via different sources what will you think and do with the same jobseeker ?

2) If you are a Jobseeker, do you think you will get the job ?

3) If you are the Employment Agency do you think you can close the deal ?

The consequences will be the Companies asking to see more CVs and lose confidence with the jobseekers at large and ended up taking a longer time for employment agencies to close deals. This will affect the survival of jobseekers and employment agencies.

So I urge Employment Agencies “To Disclose Company Names” they represent to all jobseekers from the start to avoid duplicated CVs with different salary budgets ended in the hands of Companies.

Jobseekers and Employment Agencies have to work closely to share information about Companies who are out there to “Test Market” and wasting jobseekers and employment agencies time, effort and money bearing in mind that the Companies do not pay a single cent at all.

By not disclosing and sharing information about the “Companies” amongst employment agencies and jobseekers it will only drive employment agencies and jobseekers into desperation. Companies will take advantage of this weakness and keep setting lower and lower salary budgets for employment agencies to work on. This will further create for frustration and desperation amongst employment agencies and jobseekers. The job market in Singapore is small and the employment agencies and jobseekers have to work “Smart” and not let the Companies “Fool” them.

Employment agencies should not worry about jobseekers sending their CVs direct to their Clients cause most of the Companies have that “Shopping for the Best Candidate” attitude through various sources. At the end of the day it is all about which jobseeker has the “BEST MATCH” in the eyes of the Companies not the employment agencies nor the jobseekers.
Companies may instruct employment agencies “Not to Disclose” their Companies Names to jobseekers so that they are better “Manipulate” jobseekers and employment agencies. Companies usually want to portray themselves as good employers who are willing to pay what the jobseekers are worth for. So they choose to hide behind these employment agencies to “test market” without dirtying their own hands.

Lost my tax refund check?

I lost my tax refund check the other day, i tried calling the IRS after hours using their automated service (I’ll probably call them again during business hours so i can talk to an actual person) One thing they needed was my social security number, but when i gave it to them i was told it was invalid? I don’t understand that since its the number i used when I filed my taxes. If it helps any i filed my taxes online using turbo tax. So i guess my question is what should I do?

Parents I’m over stressed?

I’m single mom of wonderful three kids. I have a son that be turning 8 in December. He has ADHD speech problems and was born with cleft palate. He have one more surgery this year for while. I have a 5 year old son that born with mild hearing loss in both ears that has to wear hearing aide’s. Then I have wonderful baby girl she be 9 months old on September 1. She a failure thrive baby with a feeding tube. I have to feed her every three hours by her doctor order. She gaining weight help of the feeding tube.
I am stay home mom that gets social security and both of boys get SSI. I was planning to go back to work part time but when I got pregnant I changed my mind. I planning not to go back because of the problems of my baby girl and daycare wouldn’t take a baby that has a feeding tube. She would only eat for me.
Back in March I decided to live with my parents for help. Then my daughter doctor decided to call children service on me. They took my baby way from me. We no longer see that doctor anymore. She see a new doctor. My mom got temporary custody of her. Then back July I got back to custody. Ever since I lived with my parents. Me and my mom had two major fights. One time her holding me back and pushed. The second fight we had I try to walk away before anything started. She pulled on my arm to hold me back and pour water over me and pulling my hair. I pulled her hair back to get her to stop. I was defanding myself. Now she went to far.
This morning she had asked me where my money is going. I told her I was saving money to get my car fixed. I need new brakes and other thing my car need fixed. My mom was demanding to see that money. Second of all she was asking me who williamson. It my boyfriend last name I told her it was a friend and I am not sending him money. She was going to report my friend to sheriff which I told her he a friend and I’m not sending him money in the mail. I had asker her she hire something to watch me. She said no but when my baby girl was in the hospital some how she got into my email address without me knowing and got all this stuff. She printed out. She really went out to far. She told me I can’t use any of her stuff. Second of all the stove and refrigerator in my parents house is mine I paid for and came from my old house. I can no longet stay with my parents. They putting me into stress and they not helping me in no way at all. Second of all I am do all the cleaning and they don’t help me when it their house. And I think it not healthy for me and my children to stay there. I want to look for my own place. The problem is dealing with children service still. I want to tell them the whole story before my mom tells them. I want them to know I can handle my kids on my own. Right now my boyfriend doesn’t know want going on. I am waiting for him to come online. What can I do. I’m over stress because of it. I can’t stand living there anymore. Right now I am at my friend house with all three of my kids. I’m 25. Why do I feel like I’m behind in my life & need to rush?

I have a college degree BA in Spanish, but still not fluent since they taught more ANCIENT literature than grammar & conversation. I graduated in Aug. 2006 & haven’t had much opportunity to study my Spanish or start on any new languages because of many crises in my life. I haven’t been employed since graduation, either. Been DYING for work, but I can only do jobs that won’t exceed my mental limitations & give me an anxiety attack, & then I get fired. That almost happened to me before graduation, when I was doing a federal work-study job through the school’s financial aid. My supervisor threatened to fire me, but luckily he didn’t. Before that, I worked a temp service job for 1 day, & I have trouble standing on my feet for over 20 min., & I had to struggle for 8 hrs. That wasn’t the reason why the woman fired me. She fired me because she overheard someone ask me why I twitch my face so much, & I told her I have Tourette’s, & the supervisor overheard it & misunderstood what I said & tried to accuse me of saying I have seizures, which I didn’t say. & they told me they had to fire me because they couldn’t have anyone like that working for them.

Between Aug. 2006-April 2007, I tried to go to translation school @ New York University School of Continuing & Professional Studies. Before I knew it, these people had me paying them $125/week to stay with them. They didn’t care about my SSI & Social Security check coming late, & they threw me out cold turkey. So, they put me in a mental health shelter & gave me a false diagnosis & had me go to these stupid, elementary school-like day programs that I KNOW I was too advanced for. & they had me on the wrong meds, & they wouldn’t let me work nor go to school.

Back in 2005 I went through Hurricane Katrina, but that was before graduation, but that experience & the aftermath affected my grades. I could’ve graduated with a higher GPA & earlier.

I suffer OCD, anxiety, depression, & Tourette’s, & I had 2 strokes @ age 5. In New York, they tried to say I was Bipolar & put me on Depakote & FORCED me against my will to take it under staff supervision, & I got up to 304 lbs. @ the most.

I feel like the symptoms of my disorders & the way people discriminate against & treat me, is what caused a hold-back in my life. My depression & OCD have been getting worse & worse, & the meds don’t help. I stay @ home & try to study my Spanish independently, but I can’t because I’m always distracted by the unwanted, intrusive thoughts.

I feel like my desired career as a multilingual translator is gone because of me feeling behind. I have to start my Spanish from scratch. But I can’t concentrate or focus clearly.

I’m still single with no kids, & my credit score probably is the lowest of the low, & my student loan & other debts are rocket high. I get anxiety attacks every day because I feel like all my daily tasks can’t be completed, even though I’m not working. I’m talking about tasks, like handling phone business calls or internet business e-mails, searching for jobs online or in person, cleaning up around the house, etc. I feel stuck in a ditch & can’t get out.

What’s strange is, I may have a degree, but I don’t have many skills or much work experience, & employers refuse to hire me because they think I’m retarded because of my obvious, uncontrollable anxiety that I can’t hide. I always have fear of failing the interview or being negatively judged.

Looking for the proper set up for home wireless internet. ?

I just bought a new Dell 1535 laptop and a Lynksis Wireless-G Broadband Router (WRT54G2). I was considering using Verizon’s interent services, but not sure which plan is best for me.They offer a 50MB and a 5 GB. This is my first time going wireless and I don’t want to OVERKILL. My plan is just for around the house wireless internet for average home use such as marketing and web browsing. However, I still would like to take advantage of all the the free WIFI that most places offer these days. But I don’t want to pay for a large wireless plan that will get me online anywhere I go. I don’t need it.

I received the below email. It sounds fishy to me. Also, who should I forward this to alert Careerbuilder and /or others?

Where’s the best place online to recruit models for a photo shoot?

I have a part-time photography business and am desperately looking for female models (preferrably with no experience) to do a photoshoot. One model agency recrimended ModelMayhem, Musecube and some other one. The models at Modelmayhem tend to want paid services rather then trades of service. Then Musecube is free for models to join but $10.00 for non-models such as photographers. The third one is free with very limited features which doesn’t include the ability to do casting calls. They have that with their pro account which is out of my budget. I tried the Craigs and backpage with no luck. I also tried Kijiji and did have a couple of shoots but many models inquired about the ad and never got back to me to do the photoshoot. I also tried New Faces and they’re free as long as I’m willing to pay casting credits. I’m sick of this online advertising nonsense and online groups that have many rule, would it be better for me to advertise in the local paper…continued to part 2

Online Survey’s for Money?

I am a first year college student, and i just received an email addressed to my campus email account. It stated that i can make money by filling out surveys. Is this a legitimate source of income available to a college student? Would i be at risk if i decided to try out this program? Is it a scam of some sort?

Has anyone heard of PAQ Technologies LTD or Home Alliance Recruiting Group? Are they legit?

I sent them a resume for a job listed on Craig’s List and got this reply that sounds like jiberish:
“We have reviewed your resume and we are satisfied with your credentials. Let me start by introducing myself and the Company to you, I am JOHNSON EDWARD the Personnel’s Manager of the firm PAQ TECHNOLOGIES LTD.

Which is a new Innovation of the Home Alliance Recruiting Group. We posted our job add as a result of trying to get an online account staff/representative.
